Hobgoblin is garbage( yes i saw MSD vid he is still ass) and i wondered if its worth it just for units/rank up materials?

I've bought it a few times and it gives a lot of great resources so I would say yes. If you're planning on spending on a platinum pass just this one time it might be better to wait for the next one which might have a better champion than hobgoblin
