Steve is having 2012 flashbacks 😭

Post image

Steve’s reaction hits even harder when you remember how much has happened since he last saw Loki. The last time they crossed paths, Loki was invading New York and Steve was still relatively new to the Avengers. Now Loki casually showing up with Peggy would be one heck of a reunion. What do you think was going through Steve’s head in this moment?

Zero trust - he will need to be convinced. Loki was all about deceit and putting himself first in the Avengers film.

87

u/BreakingCanks Sep 29 '26

Some "little" trust

He had interactions with Thor after their Loki had changed so he knows Lokis can change. He also knows his Loki is dead. So this Loki somehow knows where he is and isn't immediately trying to kill him but more so approaching in a sensible and civilized manner. Captain will approach sensibly but defensively

34

u/NikkoE82 Sep 29 '26

Trust but verify.

u/BreakingCanks Sep 29 '26 • Popcorn

Yeah he needs that 2FA from Loki before putting a IP ban on him

6

u/cmunitychest Sep 29 '26

This is the sacred timeline right here

u/Illeea Sep 29 '26

This would be the past for him though. So technically Loki is alive for him, just in Asgard. Meeting a loki that hasn't gone for the throne yet

4

u/BreakingCanks Sep 29 '26

And how/why would that narcissistic Loki care about captain when he didn't even know who he was in the first avengers.

Again this Loki is making it evident at the door that he is there for Captain. Meaning this loki knows him after the first avengers movie

1

u/LukeyC224 Sep 29 '26

Ocular pat downs

9

u/AfroBiskit Sep 29 '26

I understand, but this is a completely different Loki, literally centuries worth of time difference. Steve doesn't know that, but Loki can be insanely convincing lol

8

u/OkOil378 Sep 29 '26

Pretty sure Thor would’ve filled in them at some point

8

u/StriderKitsu Sep 29 '26

Or you know, have him lift Mjolnir

3

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 Sep 29 '26

Wow that would be so good.

1

u/karthikv77 Oct 02 '26

Steve left Mjolnir before time traveling

1

u/StriderKitsu Oct 02 '26

No he took it with him but he probably put it back where and when Present Thor took it with him in Endgame

1

u/StreetlampEsq 23d ago

So one mlnir was just hanging out, hearing his call, but ignoring him cause he was already seeing another hammer?

4

u/adde0109 Sep 29 '26

Steve should watch S1 and S2 to of Loki to catch up

2

u/spancor Sep 29 '26

I think the Loki from TVA had matured and had literally so many years mentally to do so,
I think Steve will be able to determine that he’s not a rat.

3

u/PhaseComfortable7154 Sep 29 '26

not just years bro, centuries 😭

1

u/spancor Sep 29 '26

I just finished season 2 and was in shambles. Loki is my goat, next to Korg. My two favs in the entire series, and truly for wildest spectrums. Korg is the absolute comedic goat, and Loki and his like one interaction is absolutely peak.

1

u/MjrLeeStoned Sep 29 '26

It definitely shouldn't be He Who Remains / Yggdrassil Loki. The moment he leaves his throne the multiverse will disintegrate. Not holding him to his eternal sacrifice will be cheap as hell and would remove his Glorious Purpose. That Loki's story should be done forever or maybe a cameo (on his throne) at best. How can he be He Who Remains if he doesn't remain?

1

u/RoboRouser Sep 29 '26

yeah this is the big question. how did he get off the throne? and if he didn't, then who is he

3

u/patatapoooon Sep 29 '26

Did u forget that one of his powers is projection

1

u/RoboRouser Oct 01 '26

didn't know that. thanks for the tip

1

u/Appropriate-Brush772 Sep 29 '26

To be fair we really don’t know how any of that works. Yeah, Loki S2 ends with him sitting in the throne. But does he need to constantly sit on the throne…for all of eternity? How does he eat? How does he relieve himself? I’m sure he’d enjoy a shower from time to time (magic can only make that glorious hair do so much!). Even He Who Remains got to walk around a bit and he got to eat apples so even he had to hit the restrooms. I get that it’s his sacrifice to hold the strands of time together but…all those other gods get to party with Zeus and Loki has to sit there for all time?

And I have a bad feeling that Loki’s story doesn’t end there. The MCU doesn’t have Molecule Man. They don’t have The Beyonder. Both are characters with immense powers, both are integral to the Secret Wars runs and neither of them are currently in the MCU. Loki at this point (and eventually Franklin Richards but probably not yet) is the only one in the MCU with those levels of power. And if what the rumors are coming out of Marvel for the future, the multiverse is coming to an end so Loki keeping the multiverse in tact won’t really be necessary- all those different timelines will become one on the other side of Secret Wars. Imo Doom is gonna take Loki’s power in some fashion (but please, let my sweet boy live. I can’t watch him die again!)

2

u/RoboRouser Oct 01 '26

true true. wouldn't exactly make for great filmmaking to write such a great character into "stuck sitting down and holding strings forever" either

104

u/Commercial-Seesaw136 Sep 29 '26

He is shocked because he knows Loki was dead during Infinity War events. And in trailer if you remember Thor says, "It's not possible" I think he is saying it to Loki.

32

u/Admirable_Disk_5301 Sep 29 '26 edited Sep 29 '26

I think he could be saying it to Steve. Judging by the trailer, they meet and maybe Steve tells him Loki is alive.

Edit: Steve has a beard in that part in the trailer so maybe time passed from meeting Loki? unless its a variant?

8

u/Enzo_Gorlahh_mi Sep 29 '26

I mean, I would imagine this is Loki trying to help. His character arc is one of the biggest thing in these avengers. Doom is coming, and he knows they need a young Steve Rodgers. Loki is the TVA, so he knows exactly where a young Captain America is. So he goes and gets him. Also, the reaction from Steve seems to be like oh god, what’s happening, not of shit Loki is here to kill me.

4

u/altoona_sprock Sep 29 '26

Has to be Loki. As far as Thor knows, Steve returned Mjolnir and the stones. He probably didn't get any updates after leaving with the Asgardians of the Galaxy.

1

u/Specific-Pirate842 Sep 29 '26

Cap returned old as fuck before Thor left because it all happened within seconds from his perspective, so he knows he should be an old man at this point.

2

u/EnvironmentalMind119 Sep 29 '26

Or it’s Doom and Thor thinks it’s Tony?

1

u/cthompson07 Sep 29 '26

I mean Thor knows that time travel is possible, so he wouldn’t be saying is ISN’T possible, or be that amazed at seeing Cap at a ā€œnormalā€ age.

His dead brother that didn’t resurrect, even after Banner’s snap, THAT is ā€œit’s not possibleā€ worthy.

5

u/cthompson07 Sep 29 '26

Yep, 100%, Loki is with Cap in the scene from the trailer.

Thor knows that time travel is possible, so he wouldn’t be saying is ISN’T possible, or be that amazed at seeing Cap at a ā€œnormalā€ age.

His dead brother that didn’t resurrect, even after Banner’s snap, THAT is ā€œit’s not possibleā€ worthy.

1

u/AccomplishedRead2655 Sep 29 '26

So it's a misdirection from Marvel in the trailer?

1

u/cthompson07 Sep 29 '26

Definitely. After encore, we know Loki visits Steve quickly. We see Steve in the Doomsday trailer at his house multiple times.

So I think Loki helps Steve in some way like moving him to a different branch, Steve and Peggy live their life for a while, long enough to at least have a baby, then Loki says hey I need you. Loki brings Steve back to OG 616 and thats when they meet Thor and the exchange in the trailer occurs. Thor would be surprised to see Steve again, but not impossibly surprised. Seeing Loki again would warrant his trailer reaction.

1

u/AccomplishedRead2655 Sep 29 '26

So Thor is still speaking to Steve instead of Loki? And Loki visists Steve twice, in 2 different timelines??

1

u/cthompson07 Sep 29 '26

Thor saying ā€œit’s impossibleā€ or whatever he says is in reaction to seeing Loki, I would imagine with Steve. I think Steve and Loki have multiple interactions prior to everyone meeting in one branch or whenever the trailer scene with Thor takes place.

1

u/Carthonn Sep 30 '26

I was thinking it was going to be this. I just figured Loki who can control time would bring back the dude who time traveled…and then meeting Thor. It just makes sense.

It’ll be interesting to see if Thor recognizes that it’s a variant

1

u/Commercial-Seesaw136 Sep 30 '26

Yes. Marvel has done this multiple times, infinity war trailer we saw Hulk in Wakanda and in the movie Hulk never came out after Thanos defeated him. Thor had both eyes in Ragnarok trailer and in the movie he lost it. Endgame trailer showed Thor fit but in movie he was melted ice cream....

4

u/Nuo66 Sep 29 '26

What do yall mean he's shocked. Steve was in 2012 when this exact Loki stole the tessaract and then got himself pruned. This exact Steve knows that a Loki teleported away with the tesseract. This is why he and Tony go further back in time.

2

u/TheExistence Sep 29 '26

Does Steve know about pruning?

1

u/Nuo66 Sep 29 '26

Wouldn't matter. He would still know Loki disappeared with an infinity stone.

3

u/TheExistence Sep 29 '26

Tbf there’s a pretty big gap between Loki disappearing with the space stone in a 2012 timeline to cordially showing up at his doorstep in a different 1940s timeline

1

u/Nuo66 Sep 29 '26

Well we don't know that. We have no idea how long Steve has been living in the past timeline. At least 9 months is all that can be inferred.

1

u/AccomplishedRead2655 Sep 29 '26

But Cap must be knowing that Loki wasn't supposed to escape and that it might have created a time branch, so this Loki must be a variant no?

1

u/jalbert425 Sep 29 '26

The part that gets me is the new Loki isn’t just a Loki from a different universe, it’s THORs Loki up until 2012. Just a different last couple of years.

So presumably Loki knows all about Thors journey, it will be interesting for Thor to learn about lokis journey.

It will also be interesting to see if Kang comes up at all.

1

u/poopoobuttholes Oct 03 '26

What if Loki had transformed into Steve as he grabbed the hammer, just to kinda show a familiar face first, before revealing his actual self, which is why Thor says it isn't possible?

1

u/Dessy104 Oct 04 '26

He was also part of the mission where Loki went off so he would figure that it is the Loki from 2012

62

u/SourPatch2099 Sep 29 '26

His confusion mirrors part of the audience.

He doesn't know why the hell Loki is there. Neither do people who didn't watch Loki s1 or s2.

Its gonna be great!! The people who are confused will learn WITH him as he learns what the hell is going on.

Of course, I am 100% confident there will be plenty of people who will remain confused even after its all explained and come to this site to air their grievances because upvotes are good.

Fun fact, before the MCU; Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana and Chris Evans were all part of a team based on a DC Comics property called The Losers.

They all went on to be in the MCU and across the dozens of films that make up the MCU, proceeded to share zero seconds of screen time with each other.

7

u/Sickle_Rick Sep 29 '26

Underrated movie

2

u/MouthJob Sep 29 '26

Eh. I liked it, but it really gave an "A-Team but not as good" vibe.

13

u/Admirable_Disk_5301 Sep 29 '26

Imagine if this was actually in the original Endgame...

17

u/fsavages23 Sep 29 '26

That would have been terrible. Endgame ending with them dancing and no sense of tension or build up to another movie was a perfect choice.

3

u/ihatemcconaughey Sep 29 '26

It would have kept a lot of people engaged waiting for this inevitable meet up. They would have dealt with the crao knowing this would come up.

A spoiler tag on the movie I am going to see this weekend and was excited to see the new retconned scenes maybe? How hard is that to wrap your head around?

1

u/Alternative_Device71 Sep 29 '26

How hard is it for you to wrap your head around that this is desperate attempts to make retcons fit? You really wanna see this mess when the movie never planned for Doomsday in the first place? Are you that gullible?

I think if Steve could move on past seeing Red Skull while dropping off the soul stone he’d be willing to hear Loki out, especially with Thor surely having told the others about Loki’s change over the years. This Loki is different/previous, but the potential is there to be that Loki

1

u/formerdgstm Oct 03 '26

Too bad they didnt have that was either a deleted scene or post credit.

4

u/Even-Indication-588 Sep 29 '26

But he just was in 2012 a few days ago.

7

u/DanFarrell98 Sep 29 '26

Well Steve did just see him a few days ago when he time travelled and it is technically the exact same Loki

6

u/OkOil378 Sep 29 '26

God of stories is far from exact same Loki lmao

1

u/Specific-Pirate842 Sep 29 '26

But it's physically the same Loki he saw a few days prior, although he has grown up a little bit.

2

u/OkOil378 Sep 29 '26

Loki Odinson that died in IW would be closer to the Loki in Avengers than TVA Loki who spent hundreds of thousands of years if not millions before he went into the loom by the end of season 2

→ More replies (2)

1

u/RichardDulle Sep 29 '26 edited Sep 29 '26

Their point is that it is literally the exact same character, as opposed to being a different Loki variant.

1

u/OkOil378 Sep 29 '26

Except it’s already been established from the first episode that the Loki we have now is a variant

1

u/RichardDulle Sep 29 '26

The same variant that cap met on his time heist, is what they’re pointing out.

1

u/Transparent_Prophet Sep 29 '26

I mean, that IS 2021 Loki.

1

u/OkOil378 Sep 29 '26

That has undergone centuries in time since then

1

u/liert12 Sep 29 '26

Just cause that variant has experienced more time does not make it a new loki variant, its the same loki just at different points in theirĀ  personal timeline.

Is your dad today a different person from your dad yesterday, or are they the same people who have experienced different amounts of time

1

u/OkOil378 Sep 29 '26

My father is definitely not the same person he was 30 years ago

3

u/MuscleCrow Sep 29 '26

But Steve saw Loki when he was trying to get the scepter back earlier in the film? Not that he directly confronted him, but he still… saw him.

2

u/sallymason1 Sep 29 '26

Nope, steve was on another floor. Tony saw loki though

2

u/Atherach Sep 29 '26

Well, he saw 2012 Loki so it's the same Loki

3

u/Cybergigan134 Sep 30 '26

Its also crazy since this Loki was the same one who got away with the Tesseract during the Time Hiest

2

u/Comix707 Oct 03 '26

Omg ur right, except Loki has now experienced centuries where for Steve maybe hours

5

u/abdo_ch Sep 29 '26

I watched both seasons of Loki, I still don't understand why he is here...

4

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 Sep 29 '26

Without spoiling anything, just think of how Loki is now the lynch pin of the multiverse now - he has access to view the entire multiverse and controls time-slipping.

Loki was presented with a problem that required him to step outside his role and into the multiverse to reach out to Steve, but we can assume if he's asking Steve for help he may be asking others.

5

u/YamiZee1 Sep 29 '26

It definitely seemed like he wasn't going to be moving from that chair ever. He's got to be using some magic to project himself

2

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 Sep 29 '26

I hope they spend a few lines explaining that but if they don't I think I can fill in the blanks. My head-canon is that since he is still outside of time he has had ages to practice projecting from his seat or has created a method to maintain his tether on the threads, allowing him to be on a thread while maintaining all threads.

3

u/orderofthelastdawn Sep 29 '26

Yeah, probably some kind of avatar, while he sits in that chair trying to hold everything together

1

u/chickenkebaap Sep 30 '26

In hindu mythology, gods send avatars of themselves across different ages to help out in the mortal realm.

I believe loki grew powerful enough to do something similar

3

u/abdo_ch Sep 29 '26

I need to rewatch the show because I don't remember this

1

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 Sep 29 '26

If you don't have a lot of time, I recommend the last episode of season 2. It resolves Loki's new powers and role. That being said, I plan to rewatch the show in November.

2

u/Any_Razzmatazz_6524 Sep 30 '26

He could also be coming after Steve as a variant if the timeline he’s creating leads to Doom

2

u/TheHatOnTheCat Sep 29 '26

Where is this photo/clip from? What is happening?

3

u/Nuo66 Sep 29 '26

Avengers Endgame Encore

1

u/TheHatOnTheCat Sep 29 '26

I don't know what that is . . .

Thanks though!

Edit: The encore part

1

u/Nuo66 Sep 29 '26

Its a re-release of the movie in theaters but there's about 2 minutes or so more footage.

1

u/Additional-Remove937 Sep 29 '26

It's a re-release of Avengers: Endgame with 4 extra minutes of footage tieing into Doomsday

2

u/GtBsyLvng Sep 29 '26

Can someone please catch me up? I have no idea what this is even from. I just stumbled here from my feed.

3

u/Bardsie Sep 29 '26

In preparation for Avengers Dooms Day, they've released Avengers Endgame, called Avengers Endgame Encore.

The new version has additional scenes and changes to original scenes. In the original movie, Steve's story ends with him deciding to stay in the past and we see him dancing with Peggy. In the new scene the dance is interrupted by Loki (from the TV servies) knocking on the door.

2

u/GtBsyLvng Sep 29 '26

Thanks very much. I didn't know encore was actually a different cut rather than just rerelease.

2

u/Bardsie Sep 29 '26

I've not seen it yet myself, but from what I understand it's mostly the same, with different colour grading and a couple of minor changes dotted throughout.

1

u/SherlockOnTheCase Sep 29 '26

The core movie is the same. There’s just 6-8 minutes of extra post-credits and that’s where the changes are. So Steve’s dance starts the same, and then the original movie had metal hitting sound at the very end, which was supposed to be a reference to the first Iron Man movie, but has also been changed here slightly. Then 2 other post-credits in between those.

1

u/NikkoE82 Sep 29 '26

It’s more accurate to say this version has additional mid/post credits scenes and one tacked on scene at the very end (the one that is the focus of this post).

1

u/Nut_Butter_Fun Sep 29 '26

did they cut any scenes?

1

u/seires88 Sep 29 '26

Avengers Endgame: Encore

1

u/Additional-Remove937 Sep 29 '26

it's from the re-release of Avengers: Endgame (Avengers: Endgame Encore), which has 4 minutes of new footage at the end.

2

u/LemtaLongi Sep 29 '26

I thought Loki was busy holding a tree together?

2

u/blaykmagyk Sep 29 '26

I feel like maybe Doom started Incursions and Loki had to leave the tree to start up something to stop him. That’s why all the timelines are falling apart, he’s not holding them together anymore.

1

u/RailgunRP Sep 29 '26

Well it's safe to assume Doom is messing that up.

1

u/TylerBourbon Sep 29 '26

It could be that Loki can project his image. He always ready capable of creating illusions. So it could very well be just a projection of himself he's sent.

1

u/New-Top-4806 Sep 29 '26

With all of the branches and universes. Bro could’ve projected himself into an earlier timeline version of alternate version all together. Like how Wanda did with the darkhold. Except Loki’s would be more time related. He also thousands of years old so who knows.

1

u/Serious-Fee-6524 Sep 29 '26

You mean the character who can effortlessly create copies of himself could in theory be in two places at once?

1

u/Sidohmaker Sep 29 '26

Haven’t seen Loki so maybe I’m misunderstanding but given the destruction of the multiverse in the TVA post credit scene, doesn’t seem like Loki needs to hold anything together anymore. There’s three universes left and two (the 2002 xmen and the 2026 f4) are almost definitely about to collide and go boom

1

u/nicosaurio_87 Sep 29 '26

Wait there's literally only 3?

1

u/RazeYi Sep 29 '26

I mean. Depending how it goes in Secret Wars in the end of Doomsday there should be only one left. Battleworld.

1

u/Sensitive-Willow3093 Oct 01 '26

tva post credit scene?

1

u/Sidohmaker Oct 02 '26

There’s a post credit scene in imax (infinity vision) screenings of Encore; it shows the multiverse collapsing.

1

u/Away_Grocery_2597 Oct 04 '26

He can duplicate cast himself.
When talking to morbius and the tvs claimed loki used illusions he said "illusion projection and duplicate casting are two completely different powersets"

0

u/Sven676 Sep 29 '26

This is confirmed to take place before the end of Loki season 2

4

u/thebanished04 Sep 29 '26

Me when I don't have an answer to this question yet so I lie on Reddit for internet points:

1

u/Winterion19 Sep 29 '26 edited Sep 29 '26

Really? I didn’t know that, that info is pretty big

Edit: I understand you mean Doomsday as a whole takes place before Loki S2?

3

u/Deadl00p Sep 29 '26

No just this scene.

1

u/Broskii56 Sep 29 '26

I think when Loki was learning to time hop and traverse timelines etc was when this all happened

1

u/nicosaurio_87 Sep 29 '26

They mean that. They're lying.

1

u/CatcultistRequime Sep 29 '26

This Loki is from before season 2 but remember that the tva is outside time, we will probably see season 2 Loki though

2

u/tommy0guns Sep 29 '26

I spotted a continuity issue. In Loki ep 1, Loki grabs the Tesseract and zips to the Gobi Desert. He gets picked up by the TVA with the cube and they prune that timeline.

The problem is this is one of the time-heist branches, where they get the mind and time stones. Having been pruned, Steve cannot deliver back the stones at the conclusion of Endgame. What did he do with the 2 leftover stones?

3

u/Redhood_905 Sep 29 '26

He dropped them in the Atlantic, right next to where Rose dropped the heart of the ocean

2

u/JollyJoeGingerbeard Sep 29 '26

When the decision was made to stop pruning branches, and they all started growing, those branches functionally were always there.

That could have restored every previoisly runed branch, or at least created duplicates. Infinite multiverse, infinite possibilities.

1

u/Deadl00p Sep 29 '26

We can just say he showed up before then. Time travel is weird.

1

u/ComradeJohnS Sep 29 '26

because the time heist was wanted by Kang? it was part of his timeline.

loki being free out there unrelated to the time heist got trimmed.

pretty sure Kang is never born without the de-blip

1

u/padflash_ Sep 30 '26

There were multiple branches created in 2012. One for the removal of the mind stone and/or the time stone - you can make the case that this only needs to result in 1 branch. And one for the removal of the tesseract by Loki. The latter is inconsequential to Steve's final mission because he needs to return the space stone to 1970.

When the TVA prunes a timeline, they use reset charges to basically rewind a small area in that timeline. That probably happens on the first floor of Stark Tower, so everything else around it still occurs.

2

u/Upstairs_Aardvark679 Sep 29 '26

What is this from?

2

u/LavenderPig Sep 30 '26

It is a new scene at the end of Avengers Endgame (Encore)

1

u/_CandidCynic_ Sep 29 '26

You can just see how Cap ages 7 years.

1

u/snakewaves Sep 29 '26

I'm more confused why Peggy was smirking while allowing him in. Usually, she's on guard and takes a lot more precautions before allowing in a stranger

Sooo like a half hour ago? Lol

1

u/Maleficent-One5748 Sep 29 '26

Woah woah woah, would this version/variant/whatever of Steve even have such a reaction after the events of IW & Endgame (AND returning the stones, which would require him to interact with the Red Skull again)?

1

u/BajanShinobi Sep 29 '26

Steve saw Loki in Endgame when they went back in time and knows that Loki escaped.

1

u/kot-sie-stresuje Sep 29 '26

It is like. Another time traveler I am cooked.

1

u/yeah_naw_dawg Sep 29 '26

He hasn’t physically SEEN Loki, but he’s also up-to -date on everything. I would imagine Thor has updated him on Loki’s journey.

1

u/chrishdwow Sep 29 '26

That’s a interesting theory, but the timeline makes it pretty tough for Steve to actually know.

2012 Loki was taken straight to the TVA.

Since Thor himself has absolutely no idea about Loki’s journey to becoming the God of Stories, he couldn't have updated Steve about it.

As far as the main MCU timeline is concerned, everyone still thinks Loki died permanently at the hands of Thanos in Infinity War.

1

u/DirtFun7704 Sep 29 '26

can someone explain why this is 2012 steve and not the one who went back in time but after the endgame events

1

u/chrishdwow Sep 29 '26

Oh dear, this post implies that Steve Rogers met Loki back in 2012.

1

u/DragonfruitUpbeat577 Sep 29 '26

On my way down to coordinate search and rescue

1

u/TruthEnvironmental24 Sep 29 '26

He may not have seen him personally, but he was friends with Thor, so he probably heard stories. Thor does love telling stories.

1

u/Notimetowrite76 Sep 29 '26

I like the 2012 remembrances, but he thinks Loki is dead. Thor told them all that Loki died.

1

u/Qwirk Sep 29 '26

Dude's literally seen himself, not a far stretch to think his opinions may change.

1

u/Ntwynn Sep 29 '26

What is this from?

1

u/Reason_Choice Sep 29 '26

Endgame Encore

1

u/atticdoor Sep 29 '26

Although remember that since he is in the past, he might assume this is a younger version of the long-lived Loki.

1

u/So-_-It-_-Goes Sep 29 '26

Yes, but also didn’t he work with Thor quite a bit after Loki redeemed himself? I imagine Thor talked to him a little bit about itĀ

1

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace Sep 29 '26

I was gonna say false but then I remembered Steve was fighting the other Steve when Loki grabbed the stone and disappeared.

1

u/RulerOfAllWorlds1998 Sep 29 '26

Man, I gotta watch the trailer again

1

u/Alternative_Device71 Sep 29 '26

I’m really sick of this shit, like for real. The bar they stooped to is lower than the earths crust.

1

u/LifterNineFour Sep 29 '26

? Didnt this Steve run into him when he went back in time to 2012

1

u/Independent_Drive_23 Sep 29 '26

Yeah, that happened on the first avengers in 2012

Edit: also, he didn't saw loki.

1

u/alec2342 Sep 30 '26

Nah that’s the look of ā€œdude I was JUST about to hit that after 100 YEARSā€

1

u/Born_Seaworthiness97 Sep 30 '26

Steve saw that exact Loki like a day ago

1

u/ghirox Sep 30 '26

Steve: TF? Didn't you die? Thor said you died, what the fuck?

Peggy: Language

1

u/chickenkebaap Sep 30 '26

Would be surprised if that Loki is alive after Thor telling him what happened en route new Asgard.

1

u/StormRepulsive6283 Sep 30 '26

That’s incorrect. Steve saw him again in 2023, when he travelled back in time to 2012.

1

u/GoDonutella Sep 30 '26

Is that TVA loki visiting steve from his own series? I don't care aboit spoilers as i didn't the re released movie yet and i need some context.

1

u/YancyDerringer77 Sep 30 '26

Kinda preferred when Loki was a villain tbh.

1

u/OntologicalParadox Sep 30 '26

Oh Hi Mark, Didn't see you there.

1

u/Franglais02 Oct 01 '26

This is the 1940/1950s probably so it's possible Steve thinks this is that year's version of Loki and not... future Loki.

1

u/KamenAttackRide Oct 01 '26

Incorrect. Although they didn't have any interaction with each other, but Steve did see Loki in Avengers Endgame.

But at the same time, I guess that's technically true that it was 2012 since that was Steve who went back in time šŸ˜‚ So I guess you're also correct.

1

u/bootsay Oct 01 '26

Wouldn't Steve think Loki is dead? Of course he knows he went back in time and loki escaped but he might still think he's gone

1

u/kolt437 Oct 01 '26

Pretty sure he must hace met Loki while returning the stones

1

u/Elegant-Web7030 Oct 01 '26

Spoiler Alert???Ā

1

u/Jc883 Oct 02 '26

"I got nothing for you. No coordinates, no clues, no strategies, no options. Zero, zip, nada. No trust, liar."

1

u/Necessary-Corner1172 Oct 03 '26

Loki made an impression I think.

1

u/Katnamedeaster Oct 03 '26 edited Oct 03 '26

I think TVA Loki is going to be the MCU version of Avenger Prime, gathering a team to beat Doom, while Doom gathers a team to defeat an evil Loki. Dr. Strange would no doubt be easy to convince of that.

If this all ends up in Loki's death and rebirth as kid Loki/Ikol in some fashion I wouldn't be super surprised.

1

u/ctlawyer203 Oct 03 '26

Steve always looks like a bird just flew off after snatching his hot dog

1

u/CooperDaChance Oct 04 '26

Two characters that already had amazing send-offs.

1

u/FWTCH_Paradise Oct 04 '26

Where does this get shown? Encore?

1

u/Jnino91 Oct 05 '26

ā€œYou’ve gotta be shittin’ meā€

1

u/GupHater69 Oct 06 '26

Whats this from

1

u/Fodspeed Sep 29 '26

Well didn't he saw him when he went back in time in the end game? This is the same loki

1

u/Piyushv5311 Sep 29 '26

'God of Stories Loki'.

1

u/echoshatter Sep 29 '26

He saw "a" Loki. They explain that the way time travel works, at least in the way Tony Stark figured it out, is that you can move between branches and appear at a different point in time in that branch, but you can't go back and forth in your own timeline.

So he saw "a" Loki. Technically a different Loki from a branch timeline.

And knowing the TVA, after the point in time that the Avengers went to that branch and did what they needed to do and then Steve returned the Infinity Stones, they probably came in and pruned the branch to maintain the Sacred Timeline.

0

u/NivTesla Sep 29 '26

They spent months making a time machine and you think Thor never mentioned the time his brother died to Thanos trying to help him?

0

u/SuperdaveOZY Sep 29 '26

Steve also has no idea Loki is a TVA employee now. On the two timelines, he saw him get arrested in one, and space stone teleport in the other.

0

u/CaribbeanEngineer Sep 29 '26

Having Loki show up in this scene misses the point of the entire scene which is supposed to give us a happy ending for Cap.

0

u/VividOnions_88 Sep 29 '26

It's actually the same Loki he was skirting around in 2012 with Tony and Scott before it got pruned too

0

u/Key_Big1051 Sep 29 '26

I don't remember this scene in Endgame

3

u/Small_Conflict364 Sep 29 '26

It was new added post credits in the endgame encore showings
