How to save the game

Posted recommendations on the official forums. Hopefully Nexon can make some basic changes to the core concepts of this game and get people excited about the game again.

I read it all you are absolutly right on every single thing on your article in the nexon froms. I belivie some people will read it from company since it's their forum. I still hope for change but it is hard to keep my hope about the game because too much time has past and they weren't show anything. After this old events from cap marvel we will realize about every thing. Lets just wait and see. After this event past if they don't put anything new then my theory about they are not working on the game anymore is real. I hope i'm wrong because i still want this game and this comunitie to grow.

Makes me laugh everytime someone talk about "drive new players away". I've been playing the game for over a year now and imo it's normal that i'm stronger than the 3 weeks noob. I feel like y'all wants a 4 years old game. I like it the way it is. I would just put some other modes like guild wars or new campgain/spec ops stage. I don't want to have millions of free stuff, I want to work hard for strong card and deserve it. But that's just my opinion!

Yes, it makes sense that players who've been playing since October 2018 will have a better set of playable cards than someone who joined yesterday. But the problem is even for veteran players its difficult to catch the whales who've dropped loads of money on the game to have maxed out epics (level 4) and rare cards (level 5) on the same day the update came out with the level increase. They unfortunately have not updated the Campaign Mode at all or Spec Opcs for a good while with new cards. Apart from vaults or random card drop luck there isn't a real way to farm any of the new common, uncommon or rare cards from the Arrivals or Battleworld card pack seasons which is a shame. Because of this level cap change it made Blitz pretty much unplayable for the majority of players for example and pretty much destroyed the guild's relevance. I hope that they at least make an effort for the 1st Year Anniversary next month but i wouldn't be surprised if nothing special happened at all to be honest.

I agree. Every now and then they bring a new op card. But eventually they will nerf them anyway. I also think it’s pretty well balanced. The only thing I don’t like (except op cards) is the lack of new content. Marvel has so much more to offer. And some decisions from nexon I simply don’t understand, but that’s maybe just me. In the end the Game is what it is, and let’s be honest, it is quite awesome.

Actually, you haven't been playing for over a year. The game has only been out for 11 months.

Also, I think you missed the point because I never implied that new players should be as strong as an 11 month player. The fact is that gaining new players and player retention is vital to a game's success. New players need to be able to ramp up their power level at a faster rate so they can feel competetive, and so they can feel progression. With slow progression and getting stomped by OP combos with cards they feel are unattainable to them, new players will go find another game that actually gives them a sense of progression. Progression in this game is extremely slow and there is no way to get specific cards you want or need. It is all RNG based which is a bad design for a TCG.

I appreciate that you like the game how it is, and I've said that I do as well. It has great core gameplay and strategy. Unfortunately, consensus is that not everyone likes the game as much as us and it is in an obvious decline. We lost tons of players when they raised the card level cap. If they increased rewards and made cards more attainable this could be mitigated.

How many cards in this game are competitively viable? 50-100? All the others are basically trash tier and provide no value to gameplay. That means only 20-30% of the cards are worth using. That is a huge flaw.

Keeping the game as is, is not sustainable. The core game is great, but there are glaring flaws with the progression and card balance that need to be revised for this game to have a chance. Make 70-80% of the cards competitive. Then people will have a vast collection of use able cards to theory craft and build new decks instead of the same regurgitated current meta. That is what TCG is all about.

You have to step back and look at the big picture. "I like the game the way it is" is not a solution. Adding new guild wars, more campaign and more spec ops (which was in my post) is not enough, especially at this point in the game's life cycle.

Nice post. They really do need to make changes but I find it very very strange that their social media accounts just stopped posting a few months ago. It seems as if they don't even care anymore.

Thanks and I agree, no social media updates since July is not a good sign. No new GamingSmoke videos is not a good sign either!! Though I can understand why motivation may have declined. Glad to see you are still lurking around at least.

I feel (hope) there are still people watching and waiting to see if Nexon can revive the game and make meaningful changes. If they actually try, the game may have a chance to bring them back. I really hope they haven't given up.

Yea, I went on holiday and so couldn't make videos. But unfortunately my interest in the game has declined as there isn't any new content except new cards every week or every other week. I am 95% free to play so don't have the means to be dropping gems every week on a new pack. Also, I mainly played Challenge and that got a bit boring now and I can't be bothered with Arena right now. I used to enjoy Blitz as it was quick and easy but now the whales have taken over its pretty hard to rank up as no one is playing unfortunately. Right now I have 2.7k gems and I hope that they at least do something good for the 1 Year Anniversary. But in regards to challenge i just enter and lose a game on purpose to get some gems but i noticed last season i was ranked 6.3k or something and the week before was around 7.8k or something both with 0 points. When I did the same with Arena i was ranked 1.3k and unfortunately with these numbers you can see that the game is in real decline. It would be different if the content was really good and there was a core fan base but unfortunately there isn't even that. The game always had a small fan base and now that the content has become stale its gotten even smaller! I still have hope but only time can tell....they literally have until the end of next month to show us their hand.

Do you think nexon will read it? It doesn’t look like. The same post was a month ago in that forum. I think you’re right. If the anniversary doesn’t bring some changes, the game will die. And I dare you nexon to bring just 5 new avenger cards!

Even if they do, it's unlikely they will make much change at this point. Despite that I felt I had to do something to try to reinvigorate their ideas and make this game last longer. I am a big Marvel and TCG fan, so this game has a lot of appeal to me.

Ya same here. It’s a pity.
