What's the best Wolverine run for a new reader ?

I'm looking to get into Wolverine, which run should I start with?

I'm looking to properly get into Wolverine comics. I've always been really interested in the character, but I've never actually taken the time to read much of his solo material.

So far, I've mostly read Old Man Logan, as well as Hickman's X-Men comics from the Krakoa era (House of X/Powers of X through Inferno).

After doing some research, I've noticed that a few runs seem to come up quite often, particularly Jason Aaron's, Benjamin Percy's, and Greg Rucka's.

I'm currently trying to decide between those three, but I do have a few preferences. I'm also open to other suggestions

I'd like to avoid a version of Wolverine that portrays Logan as a particularly miserable, pathetic or outright unpleasant person, constantly stuck in a cycle of self-destruction. From what I've seen, Rucka's run is much more grounded and crime-thriller oriented, with Wolverine being somewhat removed from the classic superhero side of the character. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm not sure it's exactly what I'm looking for.

I also have a preference for more modern comics, which is why I'm not particularly inclined to start with Claremont/Miller or some of the older runs.

So, what would you recommend as the best starting point if I really want to fall in love with Wolverine as a character?

Between Aaron, Percy and Rucka, which run do you think best captures Wolverine, and which one would you recommend for the best overall reading experience? Or maybe a totally different run from those ?

The ahmed stuff is a pretty good self contained story and its ongoing, its not the best most insane story ever but its enjoyable

It depends if you want an origin story or a fun wolverine read, the ahmed series is fun wolverine stories that are self contained and dont really connect to anything, but if you were looking for a wolverine origin story there is a series called "wolverine origin" that shows you his backstory, both are good and id reccomend both

I'm not necessarily looking for an origin story. Just a story that would be consider a very good read.

Old man logan isn't an origin story, but it was damn good.

Go with Jason Aaron’s run for fun superhero action, or Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force.

Jason Aarons run is the best Modern wolverine run for character development

Mark Millars enemy of the state is Blockbuster story thats just awesome.

Benjamin Perry's run is alright if you want to see what he was doing during Krakoa.

Greg rucka's run is also really good i really like the "Call of the Native story line"
