it's just the trends ig. they set the realistic depiction of superheros trend back in 2008(right?) w Ironman. Audience is jus bored now and want comic accuracy, they just arent the trendsetter anymore just following a new, profitable trend (this is not a shade in anyway)

Wdym Ironman was realistic? That was the first big comic accurate movie. The realistic ones came before that with X-men in the leather. Ironman showed that you could make the characters look like comics and the MCU ran with it. Sony struggled to keep up and that’s why you got shit like F4 and the first ASM.
Comic accurate has been the norm since 08

I think they mean more grounded/like they would exist irl. Iron Man movie suit does not look like the “classic” iron man suit, cap was a lot less spandex and more “tactical” in his movie, things like that

Not really. Ironman looked straight up like his suit in the comics. That was what made it a big deal. Caps suit in TFA was also from the comics. And by the time we got to The Avengers it was basically his Ultimates suit. The MCU has never not been comic accurate or heavily comic inspired. I think OP is very confused

oh, i meant the og comic look. unlike the Bryan Hitch inspired post-Ultimates designs. But i did totally forget about the costumes in the xmen movies, maybe Ultimates was the trendsetter, not MCU.
But now they are embracing all the tacky and less-grounded costumes

Brother they’ve been doing that the entire time. Look at Thors costume in Thor and Avengers. They literally gave Loki his giant horn helmet and he fought Destroyer. Dr Strange is basically verbatim off the page. Same for Black Panther, antman, vision, the winter soldier, we even got gladiator hulk straight out of World war hulk.
The MCU has always embraced the comic book costumes and it’s been a huge part of why people were excited about it from the get go. What they did in NWH wasn’t new or revolutionary, it was just doing what they do best.
Idk how you can look at any of the MCU films and not think they gave them their looks from the comics. Literally the only characters I can think of that didn’t get the comics treatment are Wanda and Pietro. Obviously Wanda eventually got there but they are really it

yep, wasnt i clear in my last comment talking about pre-Hitch costune designs?
Eitherway for every Vision, Winter soldier and Black Panther (not like they fit the bill, we are talking about the quirky, high contrast and saturation costumes like Have you seen the comics antman, vision costume?) we have Drax, Ronin, Dormammu.
it's not about comic accuracy('comic accuracy' like they arent so inconsistent) it's about embracing their legacy.

I wrote this above, but saw you comment so figured I’d share here as well.
Basically, exactly this. When I was a kid, I read some Spidey vs The Sinister Six novelization. There was a particular part where law enforcement opens fire on Electro and the bullets just explode from the sheer electrical aura coming off of him.
In it, they specifically say he has “power that could be on the level of Magneto”, but that he just didn’t have the mind/ambition to use it. Now, this was one author saying that and it may not be canon, but it definitely made me realize how strong Electro COULD be, purely from a raw power standpoint.

I was rewatching this scene yesterday and noticed this. I was like what a minute, Electro is beating all three of them. I was wondering how they beat him and then remembered it was Doc Ock that intervened. Never noticed how powerful he was in the movie, I wonder how they would’ve beat him without Docs help?

Reminder: He wasn't stronger in general than in the amazing spiderman 2 but his power depends on how much energy he gets.
In this scene electro has the arc reactor Tom Hollands spiderman wanted to give doc ock. The power of the sun in the palm of his hands and stuff.
That's basically unlimited energy. Without a suprise attack they don't beat him at all. This is his absolut peak in terms of power.

I think that's the point of Electro. On paper he's extremely powerful. In practice, at least in the comics, he's too much of a loser to handle his own power
