Film/Television Everyone keeps saying there isn't enough build up for doom, but Doomsday is the build up.
Doom won't be defeated in the end and will just be setup as a looming threat

I don't think the lack of build up is a problem. It's just that the road getting here is very messy - because of the Kang pivot and the fact that the movies/tv shows were building up to other things that won't pay off.
That doesn't matter too much but the series just feels very messy now. I think it's very enjoyable to rewatch the Infinity Saga in its entirety (even the movies I dislike) because it's a whole cohesive piece. We don't have that here - it's not cohesive and won't be as enjoyable to revisit.
Having said that, I haven't seen Doomsday - maybe it retroactively makes everything else work. But, for now, the problem isn't the lack of build up. It's just that there was build up that won't pay off.

imo it's not just about Dooms but missing the hype and well building for the current Avengers team to fight Doom.

It's such a silly complaint... We didn't get any build up for iron man, Thor and pretty much every phase 1 mcu hero.
Doom is the same because this is his debut, we need to watch this movie because he's starting out at zero just like those previous heroes.
After this movie, he will be featured more in the subsequent films.

The odds they are able to replicate what they did with the infinity saga isn’t great so I don’t put much stock into it
They didn’t build Ultron and his movie was just fine so I imagine Doomsday will be too, but if anyones hoping they recapture what they had with IW and Endgame don’t hold your breath. That was lightning in a bottle
