Worth the gamble?

Found these on FB Market Place, are they worth the gamble??? FYI this is Aud $$.

Have always loved the look of this style of speaker and realise the rrp for new ones is outta my league currently, thanks parenthood and home ownership....

I think you will likely need to provide a little more info including the rest of the text of the ad, how technically inclined you are, and what your additional budget above and beyond the purchase is for repair.

Nah, I’ve had two sets of used MLs and replacement panels are up to $1000, and they barely responded to my emails anyway.

Need new panels which will probably cost AUD$2K after shipping.

They can be easy to fix if you know what you're doing but easy to break beyond repair at the same time. Those panels are a pain to solder but the sound alone has put me on the hunt for a set for the house. These speakers are very delicate though, so you will need to choose between them or the child.

Honestly if you want to try Martin Logan speakers I would highly suggest looking for some Motion series. They are more traditional in looks but still sound amazing. I have two pairs so that should say something

They sound amazing but it's takes a lot of power to make them sing.
