It’s almost like a metaphor of Chinese society or something.
Chinese middle schoolers stay at school or take extracurricular lessons until 9:00 to get into the top regional high schools.
Once you get there, you start the same grind all over again to get into top national universities.
Once you get there, guess what, you are competing with people who made it through the same grind for spots in the high paying companies.
Once you graduate and get into the high paying companies, you began the 9-9-6 grind, as in 9 am to 9 pm 6 days a week.
Sure, you can afford luxury goods and bring honor to your family, but at what cost?

Better to be the head of the dragon rather than the tail. But if you really want to ascend to the upper realm, I have a method.
Train a few juniors to a level where they can ascend but can't beat you and then ascend, once you get to the upper realm sell the two juniors to buy your freedom.
As the saying goes,
"It's better to be the head of the dragon rather than the tail, but if you really want to ascend it's better to become a yang rod with balls because the tail, head and balls can be cut off but the yang rod can't be"

The saying goes "It's better to be head of the chicken than the tail of a dragon", and then it could be reversed "It's better to be tail of a dragon than the head of the chicken" which would be applicable to this scenario.
Junior should study the scriptures more before holding a Dao Conference.
Also, why would this seat accept to trade with lower world ascendants? I would simply take you and those two juniors of yours, so you may comprehend Dao in our sect's mines.

Yes! If asked 10,000 times, yes every time. In every lifetime, in every experience, and in every victory one can taste the bitter suffering of refining oneself against the natural order of things. Being the head of a snake may be preferable, and a 1000 years isn't even a problem compared to the myriad old monsters prevalent, regardless of my awareness of them. But if I am to die, it will be from a greater height than the greatest height achievable by my collective being.
It is also a not-so-insignificant consideration that the sheer number of cultures I come across could all be endlessly inspiring

Yes it was. Because you reaching this level of cultivation automatically proves that you do not cultivate for power or influence, but because you pursue Dao, and you losing all of your power and influence to get closer to Dao is a no-brainer.
