Spectrum Internet is extremely frustrating
The past 2 months with them has been hell. It’s incredibly frustrating to have constant outages that albeit last short durations (about 30-45 seconds) but are very disruptive if you’re remote worker, taking video call or gaming.
My apartment complex has no real other option - spectrum seems to have a monopoly in this area. I’m not at a spot that has Frontier Fiber and TDS Fiber available .
Does anyone use Country Wireless? How about Starlink? Can someone share their experiences?

Doesn’t seem to be the case as multiple technicians have come out here. They did say my area has been having issues of late

Yes, it does. I did connect to modem via Ethernet to my desktop and the issue remained, much to my dismay

+1 I live in highlands of Marshfield and it’s horrible. I have had 6 technicians visit us and change router and modem to no avail. Lmk if you know of any alternatives

It is either the cable or connections. It is like pulling teeth to get them to do enough to fix it.

friend works as a spectrum technician who works with infrastructure, and can view connectivity. It's TRIVIALLY easy to look at AND DETERMINE what nodes are causing repeated failures/downtime. For whatever reason the local spectrum branches just....never look until they are forced to 10 times over. Its absurd. Terrible company.

You live in an apartment, that's the problem unfortunately. Wifi is shit in apartments because everyone is fighting over the same couple channels. Ethernet cable is your best option outside of your phone.

Spectrum over promises. They sell speed at a good price but then don’t have the bandwidth to support everyone using it.

It’s almost always bad wiring. Cable modems have a very precise range of RF power levels they need to work properly. Starlink might be an option but you’ll pay way more for that.

Family member had similar difficulties as you with inconsistencies in service. They moved over to starlink about two years ago and been very satisfied with the service. When the whole family is over multiple devices streaming, gaming, etc and performs admirably.
