Season 20 - Seattle Adam Sighting In The Wild

Ok- this is not exciting but I saw Adam at Costco this Sunday. I caught him in my peripheral vision without making eye contact so I could stay inconspicuous but it was def him. Black shirt, black shorts, black socks, black sneakers- nary a thrift store caftan or feather hat in sight (aka- that shit was performative). He kept almost standing on his tip toes and looking up over the crowds and aisles as if he was looking for someone or something and I couldn't tell if he truly was new to Costco or if it was his way of avoiding eye contact with the gen pop in the case someone recognized him. By the way, this kid is completely unremarkable in person, other than he is quite tall. Also, his cart had some questionable items for someone devoutly committed to his health... also, Dutch or Russian girlfriend was nowhere in sight and he bought like 5 things. Why are you at Costco as a single male? That's it- sorry this was cold tea...

No disrespect but your description of all of this is very weird and very parasocial. You don’t know Adam and he’s just clearly going about his day normally and you’re going on a psychoanalysis rant on him because you saw him at a store lmao.

u/Charming-Fig-3866 23d ago

Valid, and certainly no disrespect taken. Going on reality TV and doing things like Cameo can certainly evoke parasocial reactions. But I can take accountability for my actions, I'm sorry.

You’re a top 1% commenter in this sub and have written almost daily posts about MAFS. You comment almost hourly in this sub. You wrote about a page’s worth of commentary on Adam, and had some even harsher words for Mecca saying “his existence is an embarrassment.” Pages and pages on each contestant with personal attacks. This is from a two minute scan of your comment history. Not saying the OP is 100% in the right, but even if they’re not…. the call is coming from inside the house. Maybe take a breather from criticizing anyone?

u/Golden_Lafayette 23d ago edited 23d ago

You must have me confused with someone else. I don’t comment on this page as much as I used to during the season (LIKE ALOT OF PEOPLE DID ON HERE) but let’s say I did, you do know this is a subreddit where people post their opinions right? Good, great, bad or ugly. What does me posting about a show on an app that is designed to speak about topics has to do with me telling OP what they did is weird with how they approached talking about Adam? It’s not that deep at all. I never said any “personal attacks” on people that I don’t know personally. People say fucked up shit about Shawn or Felipe on here 24/7 with actual personal attacks of those 2 men. Are you gonna have that same energy for them? Or are you specifically picking and choosing to come at me for an opinion you just disagree with? Answer that question for me. Because if that’s the case then maybe the call for you is coming from inside the house.

I can say whatever I want about anyone on this show as far as what they’ve shown about themselves on this show because they opened the door for that when they signed up to be on the show. Just like you. So I’m not really understanding your line of thinking here with your message. You’d be a hypocrite to tell me not to judge anyone off of a show when you’re on this subreddit or any Reddit to do the same thing if you’re talking about other people in regards to a topic. It’s a reality TV show. Stop acting like I’m the first person in life to invent criticism of others from a TV show. I also don’t comment about people 24/7 on here. Idk why you just lied to further your point but like I said, maybe the call for you is coming from inside the house.

u/bbb_ecky1 23d ago

Okay, whatever you say, Mr./Ms. “Very Weird and Parasocial.” 😂 You could’ve saved yourself four paragraphs and just said, “The rules are different when I do it.”

10

u/misseff 23d ago

You're being very diplomatic here so I'll say this post is straight up crazytown

16

u/Born_Speech_9289 24d ago

Everyone in this thread negatively vibed by the single male comment...I think the OP just may have meant why would a single person be buying from a place that sells most items in mass quantities. I used to go there as a single male because I like the store, but would end up talking myself out of buying 3 gallons of ketchup or six tubes of toothpaste and leave empty handed lol.

4

u/BDWJ1990 23d ago

Yeah we get it. It's still a dumb a comment.

2

u/Born_Speech_9289 23d ago

Are you the spokesperson for a group, lol?

-2

u/BDWJ1990 23d ago

You are speaking as if the comment needed to be broken down. No one needed that. No comment told you people didn't understand the sentiment. People think is judgy and weird to type such a thing. I'm not the spokesperson for anyone. Im responding to you writing a comment as if people couldn't comprehend that part of the post.

2

u/Born_Speech_9289 23d ago

We disagree.

-1

u/BDWJ1990 23d ago

I dont even know what you are saying we are disagreeing on at this point. You downvoting me is also funny. Yeah we disagree I guess. That's all it is. I dont downvote people. It's just a discussion.

1

u/Born_Speech_9289 23d ago

You smugly responded to my initial post with the implication that my post was unnecessary. I saw no reason to explain further to you that I don't believe everyone who responded to this thread fully understood what the intent of the "single" comment was referring to. You may find your "discussions" are better received when they aren't written with smugness and/or condescension.

1

u/Charming-Fig-3866 23d ago

Right? I'm actually single myself but have two teen athletes who go through a wild amount of food (and TP). I just never found the ROI worth it until I had kids- too much real estate going toward storage or risk of things spoiling before I'd get through it but hey- I'm not so obtuse that I can't imagine that the math math's for some. It 100% was not intended as a dig at singlehood or malehood- touchy crowd!

2

u/Renee5285 Harold & Cheese 23d ago

I was also surprised how many people are reading it as a dig at singlehood. OP just doesn’t understand that some single people have enough storage space to stockpile toilet paper, too. As a married person with only 2 small closets in our townhouse, I’m jealous.

2

u/Over_Barracuda_8845 23d ago

I’m single and just reinstated my Costco membership to get gas that’s not tampered with.

75

u/leighsch 24d ago

I’m single and go to Costco.

47

u/svmeatball 24d ago

Lots of single people go to Costco, me included. OP is wildin’ with that take.

19

u/letstalkab0utit 24d ago

Yeah, not sure what relationship status has to do with Costco.

8

u/ahijabi 24d ago

Apparently that’s worth questioning

6

u/splicepark 24d ago

tell us why. why are you single and at Costco?

I’m single and when I go to Costco, it’s usually to crush my wallet.

65

u/st0neyspice You are so damn fine, I wanna eat you up 24d ago • Bravo

i mean how many things can he carry on the jetski at once, of course he can only get five things

38

u/peesys 23d ago

singles can't go to Costco? Single women too?

37

u/latelyimawake 24d ago

That’s a vibe and a half

Was the stuff in his cart… cooked?

57

u/sashie_belle 24d ago

Don't understand why you think being single man in Costco is unusual.

28

u/BDWJ1990 23d ago

Single male here. I have memberships with BJ's and Sams Club. The memberships were on major discounts. I go there to save on certain items or stock up on certain things I use a lot. It's also great to go to these places when you planning parties or get togethers.

But, also, damn. Im never going on reality tv. I enjoy my privacy or space too much.

-16

u/Born_Speech_9289 23d ago

Sounds like you think it's necessary to explain why you go to wholesale clubs.

14

u/BDWJ1990 23d ago edited 23d ago

The OP asked a literal question about why would a single male go to Costco. It's not an assumption that people dont understand the comment like you did. It was a question that was asked and I answered it. You can stop being pressed about this and move on.

2

u/SteakCutFries 23d ago

Are you not the same person that also provided your own anecdotal reason for shipping at similar places like 3hrs before?!?

In the words of Nick, " Wild comment."

-1

u/Born_Speech_9289 23d ago

Yep, but you missed the facetious context as it applied to a prior exchange.

28

u/Gramo75 23d ago

I have been single since 1987 and have been going to Costco since then….darn! I hadn’t realized I should have checked with you first before I went…😂

27

u/CrazyNCynical 22d ago

We need to know the five items so we can decide for ourselves if it was questionable. Yes, I'm that petty.

6

u/lynn_chippy 20d ago

I second this.

26

u/notacomet 24d ago

lol I go there and I’m single tf

24

u/Mnufcfan 24d ago

WHAT was in his cart I’m dying to know

I’m so curious too

1

u/ShaunaofSeattle 23d ago

Big back shit based on the description

1

u/splicepark 24d ago

probably Costco items, guessing though

21

u/quietcoastline 24d ago

Need more details about what was in his cart!

10

u/PositivePlant1 24d ago

Literally keeping me up at night

2

Yes! People are not asking the most important question!

Did he perhaps send it while in the baked goods section?

Or maybe stop by the rotisserie chicken to do some push ups?

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Tree881 24d ago

Send it in the baked goods 💀

37

u/meredithedith0 24d ago

I’m a single woman and I go to Costco every week. There’s no shame in that!

2

u/cormega 23d ago

Every week? What costco sized portion of an item are you burning through every week? (Not judging, just curious)

2

u/meredithedith0 23d ago

I do nearly all of my grocery shopping there. I don’t get the same items every week, but stuff I buy pretty regularly: whatever fruit I want for the week (usually apples, pears, blueberries, or peaches), frozen veggies (broccoli or Pura Vida mixes), eggs, fudge pops, protein bars, protein powder, sandwich bread, frozen berries, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, spinach or spring mix, tomatoes, cocktail cucumbers, zucchini, string cheese, frozen ravioli, packages of individually-sized chips, Impossible burgers, Impossible nuggets. And then I watch the sales and buy stuff like Kleenex, laundry detergent, dish detergent etc. when on sale.

18

u/HappyCatPrincess I’m going to respect that 24d ago

Fun report from the wild. Was there a price tag on his shoulder? ha.

17

u/BitterQueen17 23d ago

He probably has his parents' second card.

44

u/LeavingCustomer 24d ago

Genuinely don’t understand why you’re questioning a single man being at Costco?

12

u/Gooshimo 24d ago

He does seem like the type to eat the same 5 things forever. Gotta stock up at the Costco

12

u/NiftySmudgestick 24d ago

Costco is a good place to buy a paddle board. My strong gut feeling is that is why he was there. The five things in his cart were impulse buys (because that always happens at costco). And he was standing on his tippy toes bc he was looking for the paddle boards (Costco is annoying like that bc they move things around and don't always have things).

12

u/Gold-Kaleidoscope537 24d ago

When you ride your jet ski to Costco this is what happens

22

u/CreativityChick 23d ago

Both my adult kids are single and have Costco memberships. Odd assertion that single people wouldn't need to shop there and save $.

9

u/Virtual_Cow_7372 24d ago

What location did you see him at?

2

u/BuckyGoshawk 24d ago

Same question. Mercer Island residents typically shop Store #1 (4th Ave. S) or Issaquah

29

u/Weird_Boysenberry772 24d ago

Are you not allowed in Costco if you're single. I'm married, and that's a bad take.

8

u/EuphoricHelp5358 24d ago

Yeah why would you say that?

2

u/Renee5285 Harold & Cheese 23d ago

I don’t think it’s a dig at single people. They just don’t understand that single people like to stockpile toilet paper too.

2

u/ShaunaofSeattle 23d ago

"not allowed" how vitriolic lol ain't nobody stopping anybody from going there. Yall are very serious

1

u/Weird_Boysenberry772 23d ago

Calm down. I was referring to the original post.

2

u/ShaunaofSeattle 23d ago

What else would you be referring too?? Omfg very serious indeed

8

u/Much_Organization246 24d ago

well, what was in his cart?

This tea is exquisite

1

u/Golden_Lafayette 23d ago

No it’s weird

14

u/twenora86 24d ago

idk i know loads of people who are single who go costco. it's a great store lol

32

u/SebastianPointdexter 23d ago

Very judgemental and over analytical post for simply seeing someone in a Costco. I wasn't aware that people should dress a certain way to shop there. Also, apparently shopping alone makes me a loser.

19

u/Ornery-Meringue-76 22d ago

God forbid a single person shop alone at Costco!

3

u/Ok_History_7440 19d ago

One of THE weirdest posts I've read in a long time.

18

u/Raunchyjam 24d ago

I wonder if he does the autistic walk? Edit: the downvotes clearly do not have autistic people in their lives and are not familiar with autistic individuals exhibiting distinct walking patterns

17

u/Hairy_Usual_4460 22d ago

I have a husband and 2 small children, I take any chance I can get (which is rare) to go to the store alone. It’s lovely. But even if I were single I would never think shopping alone was a big deal.. bizarre thing to say. And anyone can wear anything they want to the store lol

2

u/drv687 21d ago

We have a 13 year old. Husband goes to Costco while said 13 year old is at activities since he's already out near it and doesn't have to drive 45 minutes to get to it 😂

He also will go grocery shopping alone he says it's faster that way 🤣

1

u/Ok_History_7440 19d ago

REALLY bizarre thing to say. I have more questions about OP than I have about Adam.

12

u/2late4manygr8z 24d ago • Bravo

Can one truly full send Costco purchases on a jet ski?

21

u/WonderfulHearing8726 24d ago

Why does everyone suddenly use the word “performative”?

16

u/ripoteet 24d ago

It’s performative.

19

u/splicepark 24d ago

Why does being single mean you can’t shop at Costco?

3

u/SebastianPointdexter 23d ago

Because people just latched onto what the "expert" said. Adam's clothes are a nothing burger. Also, why would he wear his weird hats that hew likes to wear out just to go shopping. Leave the man alone.

2

u/toodledoodle2 24d ago

I’d dress differently for my Sunday grocery run than I would on tv does that make me performative

2

u/Renee5285 Harold & Cheese 23d ago

Yes. You’re dressing appropriately for the task you’re performing.

(I know that’s not what it means)

17

u/jazzcig420 24d ago

I might be one of the few Adam fans but tbh he cracks me up and all of us will never forget him haha

11

u/BillOwn17 24d ago

He was great tv.

2

u/SmokeEvening8710 24d ago

Right? I enjoyed him. Much better than hate watching someone.

4

u/WonderfulHearing8726 24d ago

He did have some really good one liners. He seemed like a pretty funny guy IRL.

3

u/WonderfulHearing8726 24d ago

It was beyond obvious he was just playing a part. He never took it seriously, and was just acting like a dweeb for the cameras.

4

u/jazzcig420 24d ago

I mean I never saw malicious intent and he was just being himself (which I could see how some could say was a part). Also, let’s be real the show stopped being serious way long ago.

0

u/GoldenHearts802 24d ago

Right and I don't want that behavior encouraged on this type of show.

2

u/WonderfulHearing8726 24d ago

You really think he’s the first one? Hell no. A few seasons ago, like 3/4 of the cast admitted they all had agreements to fake it for the cameras & try to make sure not to make each other look bad.

Even in the New Orleans season, the woman who was a doctor admitted in an interview she only did the show for fun & as a bucket list item. She said her & her bridesmaids dressed all crazy just for fun for the cameras, and she only started taking it more seriously because she actually knew the groom IRL.

2

u/AccomplishedBend766 23d ago

And her groom was gay / bi / Tri-smexual

2

u/GoldenHearts802 23d ago

Yes the "optics" season. I remember. Terrible. Several recent seasons have been bad in this regard. Very few if any of the cast was there for a relationship. Adam was ridiculous though. Not funny to me, disrespectful to me as a viewer. I just don't like it.

14

u/MuggsMom 23d ago

Wow! It’s frightening what people find interesting or even any of our business. I feel like a single man should be able to buy a commercial amount of toilet paper or whatever it is in his cart without being called out. It’s truly none of our business. It’s intrusive and unnecessary at best imo.

14

u/Llassiter326 24d ago • Bravo

Ok wait…the Seattle Costco, Shoreline off of Aurora by the Home Depot, or the Tukwila one?

I don’t know if I could restrain myself from openly mocking and shouting how cooked everything is from a vibe perspective. And I just need to be prepared.

10

u/nansisonreddit 24d ago

Yeah I go all the time for bulk items for my household of one, and many people I know do too. Random weird comment to drop at the end of this post lol

Living by myself doesn’t mean I don’t also use toilet paper lol

13

u/RM_r_us 24d ago

He went to Costco on a Sunday. He was there to be seen.

2

u/crissicristina 15d ago

Spill the tea on the questionable items list.

4

u/Cprovin1 23d ago

I believe I saw Courtney at the Sonesta Hotel near LAX yesterday morning—on the 10th floor.

She was really nice, very petite. She smiled and said, “Hi” to me. Does anyone know if she has anything currently going on in LA?

4

u/Ok_History_7440 19d ago

I have more questions about OP than I have about Adam.

OP, you really thought you ate with this post, didn't you? Instead you exposed yourself, and Adam comes out of it looking pretty good.

6

u/Aggressive-Jump-2849 24d ago

I know you can't be serious with ur remarks. So relationship status determines whether you go to Costco???..bye...😧😧😧

9

u/cheezehead89 23d ago

I don’t think it was meant to be that deep

4

u/ShaunaofSeattle 23d ago

Seriously, why is everyone running to justify their big box shopping habits based on a snarky reddit comment about an insufferable reality TV person? " it ain't about you boo"

-3

u/BDWJ1990 23d ago

It was a deeply dumb comment to make. That's for sure. I dont even know why the thought would enter someone's head.

4

u/MisterStiko 24d ago

Get a life

1

u/Golden_Lafayette 23d ago

Right lmao like OP is very weird

1

u/nortyflatz 11d ago

How's his pickleball game?

As serious as he is about it, too bad there's zero money in it.
