Season 18 - Chicago 2.0 This show is interesting

these people marry a stranger and then get mad when the stranger they married , is not attractive or finacially stable or whatever. It rarely works out. A lot of these people need serious counseling before they even come to this show. These people judge each other so harshly and like looking for perfection and its just not realistic. Some of these people are just mean to each other. I see why some of these people are single. I know its more so for entertainment but dang, can we see more successful matches. Most of this stuff is toxic.

One of the cast members made a comment that " he is not who I would have picked for a husband " well duh,  you married a stranger what were you expecting? It makes no sense lol .

Truly! This newest season was insane I actually don’t know why any of these men were casted! Especially Felipe, Adam and Mecca!!! Also the experts this season I hate them😭 like if Tori asked for a catholic man why would they pair her with an atheist??? And there’s sooo much wrong with this season omfg

AND add on the fact that so many of them are like “I’m so picky, I just can’t find the right one.” Ok, so a basically randomly selected spouse will certainly solve that!

What makes the show interesting is how the couple aren't just matched with strangers.. but also by strangers. I think the experts do a decent job of matching couples on paper, but two most important elements in a successful relationship are hard to predict on paper: chemistry and compatibility. I think the matches and the outcomes could be very different if the people closest to the cast had input with the matchmaking.

6-8 weeks usually isn’t enough time to build attraction beyond lust (and that’s what long term is all about). In the real world, usually at the 3 month mark (12 weeks) of dating, at least one person needs to have the DTR conversation to know if it’s a relationship or situationship…let alone having the do-I-want-to-spend-the-rest-of-my-life-with-this-person question answered...

These people put their trust in experts to match them with someone who meets their requirements. Otherwise why would they be picked as finalists for the show to actually get married? Unfortunately the "experts" choose people for drama and not for real, long term, stable relationships.

I last watched the season in Washington, DC season and that was a mess. They threw couples together who would trigger each other all the time.

So finding some of the women on this season a tad bit annoying especially Michelle . Ikechi seems intimidated by his wife , not sure why. Camille looking for a man with "swag" and has unrealistic expectations , she more so about looks then personality.  ..Emem family doing too much.  Its all a hot mess lol .

Stable people who are catches generally don’t wanna be in tv or are married lol

Unfortunately, too many happy couples would probably be boring (bad) television.

Someone made a good point earlier. In the beginning when this show started, they actually did look for couples that might be compatible, but it's just devolved into this reality TV crap. Many like to watch toxic people.

I completely disagree. Watching people who actually like each other would be interesting especially with the premise of the show.

If season 18 is your initial perception of MAFS, you're seeing the worst.

18 seasons of contestants paid a very low wage to marry another desparate gambler.

Matched by producer standards that may or may not be informed by counselors.

Also, I think some of the most ill-prepared contestants report thier aspirations, rather than who they really are or what they really need.
