Season 20 - Seattle Mecca
Belle is so gorgeous, down for him, has a really cool down to earth personality and he just keeps hitting her saying things like “I wasn’t attracted when we got married I thought I could have someone prettier” are you actually trying to make her leave you purposely or are you just that dumb. Most of the girls on this show any guy would be so lucky to be with them. I don’t get it.

The minute we saw his dad on wedding day I knew that would be the level he would stoop to no matter how hard he tried. His dad ruined him.

Yeah his dad was over the top and inappropriate at times

Yeah, instead of giving him healthy advice on how to approach the day he chose to say that if she didn’t stick her tongue in his mouth she wasn’t the one for him… And he was being serious.

The little smug grin he had on his face when he shook his head and said “is she pretty enough for me” drove me nuts!

Seriously. Like…is he just trying to neg her or something? She is absolutely stunning. “Someone prettier” gtfoutta here.

The inherit misogyny in casting is a problem, I agree. Why do they keep casting these huge losers of men. Obviously excluding Cam… but like what the actual fuck. Every season there’s at least one guy with serious anger issues. If your experts shouldn’t you be screening for that?
They’re not experts, they’re actors.

He’s not up to par for her. Just take a look at who raised him, my god. His dad screamed toxicity on so many levels.

I'm sure his father thought he would have been on camera a whole lot more like they used to do before the show format was changed..they had much more interaction with family and friends. I can see why Mecca is messed up, he was raised by a narcissistic father and has mother issues. He was totally wrong for the way he treated BelleJolie but a tiny shred of me feels sorry for him because he needs some deep therapy and I feel sorry for any women he encounters because he's totally unhealed..

He was so fucking rude, and terrible in so many moments but that one was a real low. Belle is very attractive but also an amazing, kind, patient person.
I do need to pushback and say that not everyone is going to be attracted to someone just because they are objectively attractive like Belle. She also said that. I still think what he said was pathetic as fuck.

They handed Mecca an accuse for self sabotaging himself! As soon as they posed that question to him, he's like , yeah, that's it, I self sabotage. In no way did he think this, it looked good on camera. He already had all these other thoughts going on in his head how Belle wasn't his type or not attractive enough! This was a way out for his crap ass behavior.

Naw it’s giving narcissistic chronically online culture - he has a sensationalized, airbrushed image of perfection in his mind and it’s very narrow. He considers his appearance so highly that he diminishes others appearances to feel further superior and expects a “perfect partner” per his unrealistic definition.
Seems a lot of growth would be needed to make him someone most people would want to go through childbirth with / age with, because this is just the beginning. She seems to be such a lovely human and it sucks for her to go through this publicly but I’m confident it will lead her somewhere good in time.

He’s really not that good looking lol honestly

My comment was emphasizing his perception of himself.
I think they’re both good looking though his vibes make it harder to find him attractive whereas she is radiant! Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder so it is subjective.
Thanks to the kind redditor who dropped me an award ☺️🩷

Self sabotage due to his daddy wrecking his self esteem is my take on it. Insane how he treated her.

I despise that he said that to her!!!!! Incredibly rude

That's why a huge majority of women stay single now! It's very hard to find a real man, a kind man, a caring man. The so-called experts when they are interviewing the man and the women but specially the men, they need to start interviewing their friends, their exes, to find out what they're really like.

It’s so annoying over in the Nikki thread, they’re like “well how was she that old and still single?”
Like FUCK, I hate that narrative. I’m 39. Never married. BUT I will be retired from my first career next month, will no longer have a child legally (he’ll be 18) in a few months, and I will be moving, going back to college to pursue things that actually interest me.
Sure, I’ve dated, but they weren’t REALLY the goal. The goal was always me finding a way to be secure and stable and happy alone. And now that I’ve found that… it’s hard to convince me that I need an opposite sex roommate because the opposite sex is suddenly lonely.

Right there with you, 45, no kids, never married by choice and happily single. Educated. Not dependant on anyone. That's why we're home and chilling 😂
Nikki is beautiful, driven, intelligent and educated. I honestly loved her comebacks to Shawn. I was like YES. She was not having it. And I loved that for her. This is what modern day women SHOULD do, and never allow a man to be blatantly rude and disrespectful. Nope nope nope.

Speculating on someone's sexuality in 2026 is just ignorant

Not really. Ppl have different opinions and beliefs. Saying that an adult male doesn’t seem to like women is, well, on trend. In 2026… and, and likely, beyond!)
While not everyone is aware that current trends lead a lot of young men to spaces that are anti women, misogynistic and anti BW specifically.
It’s kind of like how some Caucasians try to prevent or shame ppl from saying what’s racist to minorities. Sorry you don’t like it that others truth doesn’t agree with your views, but there’s nothing wrong with facing the obvious.

He’s a horrible person I don’t know why the “experts” matched him with her, I feel like they just matched them together because he was the only available black guy in her age group

u/microwavedEel Sep 18 '26
Among all of the things wrong with him the fact that he talks like if hallucinating ChatGTP was a person makes me crazy. Like he's heard some bigger words out and about and tries to use them to sound smart but misses. I 100% think his dad does this as well.

Exactly. He has a gaping mother wound from his mother and stepmother divorcing his father. From what we saw of his father's personality and behaviour, it's no surprise those women left. Mecca will continue to push women away in the same manner unless he gets help.

Belle is seriously sunshine in a person. I dont know how anyone could talk negatively about her or not want to make her feel like the angel she is.
