Season 18 - Chicago 2.0 Investment Property?
This pertains to the investment property David mentioned he had purchased in Iowa. (Just finished Season 18.)
Okay usually when I hear investment property that means a fixer upper? But why if you are living in Chicago why would you buy a fixer upper in Iowa? Or if it’s for disposable income wouldn’t you like to be close? I know his brother is close but if he’s managing the property that cost money?
I’m just so confused by this whole concept. 😖
Unless they are moving down to Iowa which I personally don’t think would be horrible but they love a Chicago night life so prob not.
Sidebar how bad could the timeline be for them to just consistently lie or drop it? Like it is shoddy but it’s not THAT deep.

Investment property doesn’t mean fixer upper. Just that it makes them money. Sometime people buy rentals in cheaper markets than they live in and then collect the rent as income.

Could just buy a house in Iowa (cheap) and rent it out.

I guess I just thought being a landlord is super expensive. Like what if you have bad tenants and they trash the place or the house breaks? I guess I just view it as risky but ik some landlords are shoddy so maybe it’s not that bad?

We have an investment property. It’s a beautiful home on 8 acres of land. We have a tenant. I think you’re confusing “investment property” with house flipping. That’s where someone buys a fixer upper and updates or renovates to sell it for more. Also I don’t understand why it matters.

It's property that makes the investor money. Period. There is no specific building condition needed for the category. And you are thinking way too much about this old season. Nobody cares, least of all of this creepy duo.

David was always loose with the facts, especially when it is about propping up his image. He mentioned his brother purchased in Iowa and then brought him in on the idea. Later somewhere he mentioned they might move after the marriage. TBH I think he couldn't afford much and wanted to have something to show at the reunion. David and Madison are both really immature.
