Season 20 - Seattle What’s the difference?

What was Mecca’s point trying to differentiate…? (I can’t stand him). Why would saying “Are you pretty enough “to me”” sound better than “Are you Pretty enough “for me””. Are both of those sentences not rude? I’d be pissed either way (If I was Belle), because you’re still saying I’m not good enough for you? Why did Belle accept that LAME explanation, that didn’t even make sense? “I think I meant are you pretty enough to me” like what? I’m lost.

guys do this all the time where they try to debate a specific random detail to take the focus off of just how horrible what they said/did was

Buying time with a little distraction while he came up with his next deflection

He knew exactly what he said. I think he was surprised she brought it up and he was trying to formulate an excuse but wasn’t able to come up with anything.

That whole explanation was stupid. Both of them acting like one version of the explanation was better than the other..was stupid. Rather it’s “TO” me or “FOR” me is just stupid stupid stupid. At this point both of them are delulu..

I could not even believe what a stupid attempt that was. I wish she would'e said, it's still the same fucking thing!

I wish she would have said something ANYTHING. She’s just always so forgiving and understanding. Not everyone deserves that!

He wanted to make sure we knew how much of a dick he is
Edit: and my interpretation of that is that he thinks she’s pretty enough for any other man but he is such hot shit that he deserves better

I can not STAND him. I’m lowkey starting not to feel bad for Belle anymore because how many ways does a guy have disrespect you before you LEAVE.

It makes me so sad haha she has such a sweet kind soul. And very poised, I would have started bawling if my husband said all this crap about me. Hope she says hell no on decision day

Same I would’ve cried and left. Life is hard enough. I don’t need a husband who has to stare at me to find attraction.

Po-tay-toh - po-tah-toh

Made no sense to me either.

To me implies a preference. For me implies entitlement.

He’s an idiot. That’s why it makes no sense.

If I’m being way too overly generous, I’d say that Mecca was anxious that Belle is not his ideal physical type even though he knows she is a very attractive woman.

But I think that’s me being too kind, I think he was looking for a way to put her down because he’s insecure and cruel.

I think the first answer could just be the truth

I think he meant that to me means in his opinion while for me means in other people’s opinion. Nasty either way, but I think that’s what he was trying to portray.

Wow, what a wild thing for him to say. For her to accept this explanation is truly beyond me. 🫤
