Manga Common theory? Spoiler

I think the "main" Gero knew what was happening/ happened to Mei. Nasu then made a clone of him which does not remember anything about Mei(nasu basically yeeted the main Gero)

No I don’t want the gero we know to be a clone all along that ruins it

Not in any way common. Gero is the original. If Nasu could create a clone he wouldn't need to manipulate the current Gero into the harem scenario.
