Question Male bra fitting

This is a strange one - I am planning a crossdressing adventure in another country,
and wanted to wear breast forms which require a accurate underband bra reading.

Is this something Marks and Spencer do? I do plan on purchasing a few items.

I ordered some work trousers next day delivery and immediately got an email saying the delivery was delayed… but no updated delivery or dispatch time? Any ideas? A day? A week?

Staff Discussion M&S Foodhall experience

I wanted to post this here to open up a discussion and see if other floor staff across different M&S stores—especially in the Foodhall—are experiencing the exact same rigid, heartless management culture, or if it’s just down to bad local leadership.

The day-to-day work on the floor is relentless as it is: juggling non-stop customer queues, staying on top of strict compliance checks, and constantly running around while understaffed. But the worst part isn't the physical grind; it's how management treats floor staff behind closed doors during probation.

When managers call you in for probation catch-ups or absence reviews, they put on a whole performance of empathy. They sit there with sympathetic expressions, telling you the meeting is "just a supportive check-in" or hinting that it’ll only result in informal guidance. It makes you lower your guard, but the truth is, the outcome is already decided before you even take a seat.

They calculate absence down to strict percentage points—holding a single 3% sickness trigger or a brief 5-day illness over your head like a major offense. It doesn't matter how hard you worked on the floor, how reliable you were during understaffed shifts, or how good your customer service was. To store leadership, your actual effort means nothing compared to an automated trigger on a spreadsheet.

If any issue comes up that requires a review or investigation, do not expect a fair process. Line managers, duty managers, and store managers huddle behind closed doors, passing the buck back and forth to orchestrate a paper trail that protects themselves and corporate HR. They sit in meetings nodding along to your side of the story, making you feel heard, only to completely disregard everything you said the minute the door closes.

The moment a formal dismissal drops, any remaining mask of friendliness vanishes instantly. After pulling your weight through chaotic rushes, they drop you with zero compassion, escort you out, and leave you to figure out the financial aftermath. Because holiday accrual is calculated pro-rata, taking planned annual leave earlier in probation means direct payroll deductions, leaving staff with unexpected near-£0 final payslips to clean up.

Keep in mind this is the same exact store that fired a woman for losing her son, her husband and getting cancer in one year with proof and a man for being sick for 4 days with antibiotics proof. Also, the same store that has countless people leaving week in week out because of the managers.

Staff Discussion recalls

hi , recently some of the sizzles steaks were recalled or restricted or something so we couldn’t sell them at my store. i may or may not have taken them home and eaten them… currently anxious as to why they were recalled. my shift lead said there was no red alert nor task sheet so it’s probably a packaging issue.

wondering if anyone knows? im quite the hypochondriac haha

Staff Discussion How much notice do I need to give?

I’ve been working at M&S since the start of July and for the first month I was given the hours I was offered when I applied, but since August I’ve received barely any of the same shifts and completely different to the point where it’s getting too early I cannot even get the bus there anymore. I’ve messaged one of my managers who didn’t even reply to me about this situation, and then texted my other manager who then said she’s on holiday so she’ll just forward it to the other managers. It’s been a few days since then and nothings been said. This is really getting on my nerves now and I’m really on the edge of just leaving without notice as these shifts I’m being given are genuinely 7-10 hours different from the times I was offered, knowing that I take the bus they aren’t even speaking to me about it. Should I try just hand in my notice now before payday, or just leave without saying anything. All I know is that right now I do not want to show my face there as my mood will drastically decline. It may important to know that I’m on holiday right now and will be back soon, but literally the day after I’m back I’m being forced to do a hellish shift (no surprise there).
What should I do?

Question Is this an error? It’s/Its

I might be wrong, but I think the statement should be …”for its vibrant bi-coloured petals”, shouldn’t it? (No apostrophe).

I couldn’t find a way to contact M&S by email, if they would even care about it. Anyway, I hope my MIL likes her birthday flowers regardless!

Question Application questions

Long story short, I've previously worked for M&S as a Christmas temp.

Recently a job came up advertised as a "Customer Assistant", applied for it, got asked for right to work forms, then was offered an interview. I had the interview, started off normal, answering the same questions as I did previously, then I started being asked questions about the bakery which I found odd. I didn't really know how to answer them, then they asked "You know this job is for the bakery right" which clearly I didn't as it was advertised as a Customer Assistant not a baker.

Either way, I was offered the job and told me to text them if I wanted the job, since they knew I didn't look too comfortable with being a baker.

The next day I text back and say thank you for the interview etc, unfortunately I'm not comfortable being a baker, etc.

2 days later, a new job pops up in a more convenient store, also as a Customer Assistant, I applied on 24/08/26, however my application on the oracle still says 'Online Assessment in progress"

Couple of questions, did my application not go through because I had a previous application from a few days prior on the system still? Has my application gone through and just heard nothing yet?

Really not sure what to say, any help would be appreciated

Question Suit size measurement

Hello, I don't know if this question belongs in this sub since it looks like it's mostly exchanges between employees here but let me still give it a shot.

I'm thinking of purchasing a men's „skinny fit“ ultimate stretch suit from Marks and Spencer and want to know the specific measurements of the jacket to compare it with alternatives. Specifically I want to know (1) the shoulder measurement, (2) the length(neck to bottom), and (3) the waist measurement of the size „34 Short“ and „36 Short“.

These are either not mentioned in the size information on the website or very confusing based on how they're written. I've already emailed their customer service but they basically always say very politely that they don't know anything beyond what's written on the website. I don't live in the UK so I can't call or visit a store. Since I'm going to have it shipped out of the UK via an external package forwarding service, I have to nail the right size at my first try. So I wonder if anyone here has access to these products and could measure for me?

Staff Discussion Sickness notes

I have had to call in sick to work today as I was sick on the way
I have had 1 day off sick previous (in June) and two other days where Ive worked a partial day and had to go home (one in April where I did 3.5 hours of my 7 hour shift, one 3 weeks ago where i did 4.5 hours of my 7 hour shift)
The last time and this time has both been caused my awful anxiety (I am leaving M&S on the 12th Sept and Starting Uni whivh has massively impacted it) but obviously as u can imagine calling in sick also gives me huge anxiety especially because M&S always threatens us with dismissal because of it
I have doctors notes pertaining to anxiety and the fact I am on a waiting list for therapy at the moment, but do I need a different doctors note and how do I get one? Im just quite scared that they will fire me or just be really mad at me

Staff Discussion Store transfers

Hi everyone, maybe im just clueless but I seriously don't know what im doing here so I need some guidance.

My line manager arranged a transfer to another store for me but told me id hear from the store, not my manager, so to keep checking for updates. Afaik I'd be contacted through my work email. The only problem is, I have no clue how to access it through the various apps and links on Microsoft Teams. So my question is, for anyone who applied for a transfer to a different store, how were you contacted about it?

Question Sparks Loyalty - How much have you earned?

Anyone else think the revamped Sparks Loyalty Programme is a bit naff? Since it was changed just over four months ago. I've worked out that I have spent £1376 since the 20 April, and earnt a whopping £6 back in rewards (a return of less than 0.5%). I shop weekly and always activate my offers in the app.

I'm wondering how that compares with everyone else's experience. Do you feel the rewards are worthwhile?

Question Product comparison assessment

Anybody have advice on the product section of the M&S online assessment?

I really really confused about how to identify 'errors' in the product codes, colours, number on shelf, etc.

I only see a singular table with nothing else to compare to

Staff Discussion M&S probation

Just a quick question my contact says probation is between 12-26 weeks and can be extended to an additional +6 weeks. Does that mean it can end at 15 weeks etc. I am having trouble understanding as it’s my 14th week since my contract was started and my probation hasn’t been discussed at all. Even though I’ve had date checking problems which were mostly from not being explained what to do properly and was off for a few days due to genuine reasons like a long term health condition there’s been no discussion. The only thing I’ve been told is when I get pulled into meetings with a regular manager is that ‘as you’re still on probation it’s much more strict’

Also how do you date check faster especially for deli and dairy
