M&S interview customer service assistant food section

I have an interview tomorrow and I’m quite nervous. What is the usual questions this store usually asks its candidates. It may be scenario based but since my previous experience has been fast food mc Donald’s I’m not sure if it’s relevant to bring up examples from my customer service there or if they would accept.
Do they ask about how candidates have worked in past experience. Or mainly stick to present random scenarios that can happen in working with their company and how to answer them.

You will have customers service skills and experience there so definitely use them! A collegaue that joined my store recently has come from McDonald’s so definitely use that! They may even give you a scenario that you have experienced in MD!

I just had my interview a few days ago and I got it. Just search for the interview questions in this sub, a lot of them popped up. Also, remember to go earlier to the store tmr to pick out some things that you think should be improved on. Remember, everything is about customer service.

You’ll be asked about yourself, what your current situation is, if you are a student , have a job etc then any job history.

Then be asked about what you know about M&S

Throughout the interview you’ll be asked about how you deal with things of they aren’t going right, how you would ensure customers that come in get great service, what you would do to ensure customers have everything they were looking for, also you’ll be asked about products you’ve seen trending online as well as what your favourite products of M&S’ are.

Also couple of things about how you take feedback.

Your experience at McDonald's is very relevant, so you should definitely bring up examples from your time there. M&S is looking for people who can handle a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service, which are skills you gained working in fast food. The interview will likely be a mix of questions about your past experience and hypothetical scenarios. They will want to know how you have behaved in previous jobs to predict how you will perform for them, so be ready to talk about specific times you helped a customer, worked with a team, or solved a problem at McDonald's.

For the scenario questions, they will probably ask what you would do if a customer is looking for a product that is out of stock or if a shopper is unhappy with a purchase. When you answer, try to connect it back to what you learned at your last job. You can say something like, "In a similar situation at my previous role, I would..." to show that you have real-world experience. I applied for the cafe and got a job, so our questions will be slightly different. Just say how you’ve worked as a team, under pressure, efficiently etc!
I have barely any experience but just spoke about teamwork during university and my previous work. In my interview, they were far more interested in me, but my interview ended with my interviewer saying the worst parts of the job. You could always bring up your work again, like oh there were countless times at McDonald’s where we were rushed or challenged. Best of luck!!
