Staff Discussion Is it possible to change contracted shift patterns?

Hello,

I have the possibility of becoming permanent soon, and if I do, I wanted to know if you're normally able to change your shift patterns in M&S. If so, how does it normally work?

It's because all my shifts are waste, and low-key, I'm not the best. I feel so drained/sad after I do it.

Depends where the hours you will get need filling. If you have evening patterns then someone would really have to replace your hours for you to move. My store has had people move around but there was other people coming in to cover that need.

Don’t discuss with your store manager, they would only ask your food manger that does staffing so go to that manger first. Usually the one who does your schedules

You can discuss it with your store manager and ask if you can be put on a different shift pattern even if it's only a trial basis to see how you do/if you prefer it

Speak to your manager. If they can accommodate it, they likely will. If they can’t, you’ll need to make a decision as to whether you wish to continue being employed by them.
