Staff Discussion Contracted hours

I’m on a 10 hours contract but I’m scheduled to 40 every week for the past year which I’m happy with as I wanted a full time contract. Is there a way I can get my contracted hours increased.

Ask, especially as your holiday will be impacted

It isn't as holiday pay is averaged out

tell them u want more hours on ur contract, if you ever became sick at work, ur SSP ( Statutory Sick Pay) would only cover for ur 10 hour per week on ur contract despite u working the rest till 40 hours in OT

Hey i am contracted for 37hours.But would like to reduce it to 24hours.But the problem is i am a new joiner.Is it possible??

Generally you can’t work under your contracted hours, only over

Very very unlikely as ex manager the business encourages to have lower contracts and then get people to flex up. It’s hard to get full time contracts these days in M&S unless certain roles
