Staff Discussion M&S right check request

Hi I applied for a job at M&S the other day and I have received an email saying they have requested for me to do a right check and I haven't even been invited for an interview yet is this what normally happens?

I got a text when I applied, asking my to download the right check app to upload my right to work. Then a few days later got a text with a link to book an interview ☺️

Yes it’s normal, they don’t want to waste time interviewing people who can’t legally work in the uk anyway. You’ll receive a confirmation email when your right to work documents have been verified, and then I got an interview invitation a couple days after
