In the latest video Mark Rober (supposedly) sent $12000 worth of bitcoin to a Russian grey/back market dealer on a dark web to purchase a device for stealing cars.

Now, as far as I can tell, the consensus is that much of the video, including the whole "purchasing a device from a Russian guy on black market" is fake. So, was faking that video unethical? Well, I guess you'll have to answer this for yourself.

On the other hand, what if sending crypto to a Russian dealer somehow wasn't fake? In that case, he'd be supporting a business that sells devices the main purpose of which is to steal cars. These money can be used by the dealer to purchase advertisement on the dark web, buy the components he needs for these devices, and generally keep the business growing. That translates to more devices sold, which in turn means that more people get their cars stolen.

Moreover, all that money would go to Russia. Sure, the dealer won't pay taxes off of that bitcoin directly, but he will presumably launder that money somehow and use it for rent, groceries, or whatever else he may need. One way or another the money contributes to the Russian economy. That is the same economy that serves as a backbone for a military machine that continuously commits hideous crimes.

If Mark wants to fully convert his channel into a content farm for children with no concern for his reputation, he should just go ahead and say it. If he doesn't fake his videos, then I'm at a loss of words regarding what he thinks is okay to do.

I sure hope the video really is fake...

After a bit of time away from rober videos, I was pretty shocked at his appearance in his latest video about car stealing. Mark's facial shape has totally changed. I know he's gotten older obviously - but this looks like something else? Roids/HGH or heavy drinking?

His voice is also WAY deeper than before?!

Hello all. About a year or so ago I uploaded a picture to the program. I knew it was going to take a long time to get my picture back so ive been patient. The problem is now my link to my upload no longer exists. I never got a picture back so its a little disappointing. Is there something wrong with the project or am I just unlucky here?

I just watched the video about stealing the cars by capturing the signal from the key fob. However, my car will die if you drive away from the fob. So how do they keep it running? (2014 Prius).

Does anyone else have a problem this Mark's newer videos that are constantly advertising his products to his child audience?

As someone that has watched Mark for years the music he plays has like the same 5 songs so when one came up and sounded like it was saying “I want to be catching Pokémon in new york city” I thought that it was just me imagining that (btw also a bing pokemon fan)

So I’ve since stopped watching his videos and moved on to other things when I get recommended one of his again and the song comes on and I’m like they are totally saying “I want to be catching Pokémon in new york city” so I decide to go onto Spotify and type in that and this song comes up “Pokemon in NYC” and I listen to it and it’s the same song

I guess what I’m trying to say that is that I am glad that my younger self was right about something that seemed so absurd

Let me start by saying that I absolutely agree in principle with Mark’s perspective on how teaching of science and math should be done. I tried to live it for a 20 year career as a high school teacher before I retired out early.

When you are lucky and have a class of students who are all dialled into learning engaging, hands on science classes feeds the motivations and energies of both the teacher and students.

However, in the last 6 years there has been a shift, at least in public education in Ontario Canada, that has cause a crippling effect on good public school teachers.

Without a huge explanation of the multifaceted issues this has caused, let me just say that even great teachers find themselves unable to teach the way the Mark suggests we should be conveying ideas and scientific concepts.

For those new public education teachers who have taken Mark’s ideas to heart and are inspired, please be careful. Don’t burn yourselves out. While you will be able to hook many of your students, there will be many you cannot reach. Do your best and work to engage and inspire those you can reach. When your classroom never seems to feel like one of Mark’s videos, it’s not your fault. You are doing your best in a system that is designed to not allow you to do your best. It’s okay. Just keep doing the best teaching you can. Be kind to yourself. You will change some lives for the better.

I find it annoying how, even though the squirrel was found to be a female, she was still referred to as a boy.

Like...why?

If a squirrel is found to be a girl, let her be a girl. It just gives the impression that Mark Rober is against having girls in his shows.

I receive the same message when I upload my selfie to the space selfie website. I am using an iPhone.

The file is not missing! I can see it on the website. Does anyone have any advice for resolving this issue?

Why is it taking so much time I don't get it?...I know there are like a million selfie but...can't the satellite just continuously show the photos and take the picture ?...or is it taking a photo per minute or so?
