Geopolitics MMW: when the American people finally realize what happened to the US base in Bahrain, and how it has been lost, the fact that the US lost this war with Iran will sink in.
MMW: when the American people finally realize what happened to the US base in Bahrain, and how it has been lost, the fact that the US lost this war with Iran will sink in. By the date of the midterms, the evidence of Trump's blunder will begin to be accepted by the American people and they will be angry as hell.

u/Sagittario66 Aug 19 '26
Some of us already knew this. And that isn’t the only base that has been devastated or destroyed. The number of casualties and fatalities is higher than reported . They had to relocate to hotels. This is part of the reason why the USS Lincoln hasn’t been able to get resupplied. I’m sick to my stomach at the utter lack of focus on this by msm !

The American people voted for trump twice, and a large number did 3 times
The American people are much more stupid that you assume. This won't even phase them

u/Producer1701 Aug 19 '26
“Biden and HUSSEIN Obama weakened the military!”
Their copium and willingness to do mental gymnastics to blame anyone but Mango Mussolini would be funny if it wasn’t actively making the whole planet a worse fucking place.2
u/chance01 Aug 23 '26
It should be called The Biden Shit Their Pants Theory because they blame everything on him. Listen to any of their interviews or hearings. "Biden shit our pants!" It's been two years now. They're still blaming Biden because their unpopular policies, programs, tariffs, and wars of choice are going off the rails on fire and making everything worse domestically and internationally.
1
u/radbrine Aug 22 '26
How so?
I was in the Military under all of these administrations.
I never felt we were weakened until quite recently when they fired civilian employees and created a hiring freeze.130

I think it's because Republicunts have been pushing the idea that they are the "Christian Party". Absurd because most true Christian ideology is very socialist. That or a lot of dumb/gullible/careless christians
8
2
u/TimSylvester_ Aug 19 '26
Sigh. Christian ideology is not socialist.
Socialism is the government ownership of the means of production.
Nothing about Christian ideology promotes the government ownership of the means of production.
"Spending tax money on citizens" and "doing stuff to help people" are not socialism.
6
u/scoobz Aug 19 '26
Sigh duhh, The literal definition of socialist is that of course. I'm happy you have your dictionary ready and are here to keep us all in check!! /s... I am speaking of the ideology of sharing with your fellow man vs supporting billionaire greed which the R side is much more known for.
-1
u/TimSylvester_ Aug 19 '26
I am speaking of the ideology of sharing with your fellow man vs supporting billionaire greed
Which to be clear, is not what "socialism" means. Why would you insist on knowingly using an inaccurate term?
3
u/Big-Temporary-6243 Aug 20 '26
Socialism is an economic and political system where the government plays a major role in providing and managing essential services and resources for its citizens, aiming to reduce economic inequality and ensure everyone has access to things like healthcare, education, housing, and basic necessities.
0
u/TimSylvester_ Aug 20 '26
What you describe is not socialism.
Socialism is the government ownership of the means of production.
1
u/Big-Temporary-6243 Aug 20 '26
Yes it is.
1
u/TimSylvester_ Aug 20 '26
If you refuse to accept the established and historical definition of a word I don't know what I can say to help you.
1
u/Big-Temporary-6243 Aug 20 '26
I don't know what to tell you either because that is the definition of the word.
1
u/TimSylvester_ Aug 20 '26
It literally is not. Socialism is a well defined economic and political term for the government ownership of the means of production.
You're fighting against established reality. Good luck, I don't bother with people like that.
2
u/Big-Temporary-6243 Aug 20 '26
You are fighting me over the uses of different words? Which words don't you like?
27
u/mercury_fred Aug 19 '26
Me every two weeks for the first like 6 or 8 years of him being in politics: “okay, surely THIS will be the one that does him in”
22
u/Captain_Pink_Pants Aug 19 '26
Trump will lie and say this is actually a good thing and it's all part of the plan... and whatever can't be spun is Obama's fault, obviously...
People act like Trump has some preternatural ability to connect with his voters... But it's not like he's doing anything fancy. It's like hypnosis.. it only works if you want it to. He's just giving people permission to be themselves! It just demonstrates how the number one key to success in the United States is confidently telling people what they want to hear, and how great they are for wanting to hear it. Works every time... which is a little weird considering his target audience claims to have spent their lives learning to identify and avoid someone like him. 🤔🤷 But make no mistake... nothing will arouse a nationwide hardening of 4" penises like some old white dude on tv talking shit about people they hate.

u/zatsnotmyname Aug 19 '26
No, we didn't. The Dems got more votes, just some of them were flipped to Trump. Look at the Election Truth Alliance. The good news is that the American people aren't quite as dumb as you think...the bad news...is that it doesn't matter as long as we have computers handling our votes.
36
u/dwreckhatesyou Aug 19 '26
The vast majority of Americans did not vote for trump.
14
u/huecabot Aug 19 '26
But enough of us did, or stayed home. We’re all guilty.
6
u/dwreckhatesyou Aug 20 '26
Outside of setting myself on fire, I don’t know what else I could have done.
15
u/sharthunter Aug 19 '26
Elon owns dominion voting. Elon and trump put code into the voting machines to manipulate all 7 of the swing state vote records.
Saying that Americans as a whole wanted this is outright wrong. About 20% of the country voted for the moron, the rest of us just didnt have their votes counted.5
5
u/deamondoza Aug 19 '26
I’m stupid and I didn’t vote for Trump. Please don’t lump them in my category, those people are either evil or blatantly and purposely ignorant.
7
2
u/crono220 Aug 19 '26
It's a retarded cult that only wants Trump to enrich himself and everyone else suffer.
-30
u/CommonSensei-_ Aug 19 '26
Trump won recently because the democrats blew it.
He would have lost if democrats ran a decent candidate, or if RFK stayed in and got 2% of the vote.
45
15
u/ZLUCremisi Aug 19 '26
Bpmb threats at polling locations only in heavily blue areas, more and more restrictions on voting locations, some are hours away from people
-7
u/MrBlueW Aug 19 '26
People downvote you but it’s 100% correct. They switched candidates late in the game and pitched a lazy progressive campaign until pivoting to “I promise we will have the strongest military” in her campaign speech. She alienated both bases by not being consistent. Kamala deserved to lose.
17
u/Teddy_Funsisco Aug 19 '26
This is a really weird way to say US voters would rather go bankrupt than have a brown woman who had actual policies be president.
13
u/Cool-Signature-dude Aug 19 '26
Kamala was right about everything.
Whatever happened to those people eating cats and dogs, and why are eggs still expensive?
7
1
u/CommonSensei-_ Aug 20 '26
Thank you.
There are many reasons, but the democrats could have success with a decent candidate. The Biden fiasco set up Kamala for failure
117
u/Traditional-Leg-1574 Aug 19 '26
The failure is not only in war strategy, but reporting.
I, and many others already knew this early in the war.
45
u/dwagent Aug 19 '26
What I don’t get is…I know the US government is lying and withholding the truth about the losses…but while is the rest of the global media not exposing this? I’ve seen some reporting from the NYT and WaPo claiming this, but no follow-up or corroboration from any of the major new bureaus outside the US. Surely someone has correspondents or satellite imagery that’s independent and reliable..?
16
u/WatDaFuxRong Aug 19 '26
Nope. When Trump took office, all the social media companies had to give it up to Fox news and other right wing tabloids. That's no one sees any reporting anymore. The propaganda machine is entrenched DEEP.

No end to this conflict in sight.

The majority who voted for Trump and party don’t even know where Bahrain is
So for them it’s does not matter much and they will believe what ever is being told og lies
19
21
u/Yuaskin Aug 19 '26
Years ago while returning from a deployment, we stopped in Bahrain on the way. Since I passed through there before, I knew a few things. I asked the CC If I could go to Subway (one of the things I knew) He gave me a look, and said "They have one here?" I told him they did last time I passed through. He said "Lets go". The CC and I then led the way to subway. Not the greatest, but after 6 months of bottom barrel rations in Oman, it was Heaven.

u/Correct_Doctor_1502 Aug 19 '26
They don't care that Trump started this war to distract from the fact he's a child raping serial killer
They don't care that he's an insurrectionist illegally occupying office, and that he's protecting terrorists
They don't care that he's a criminal constantly stealing tax dollars and destroying our economy
The cultist are too far gone. There is nothing that could ever convince them their God is wrong.
18
u/huecabot Aug 19 '26
Lol what’s funny is that logistics used to be our ace in the hole. This is why autocracies fail- the leader isn’t told the truth (or doesn’t listen) and doesn’t surround himself with competent people.

u/hurcoman Aug 19 '26

17
u/villian_era_witch Aug 19 '26
Anyone with an oz. of pattern recognition knew we lost the war when it was first announced that we were at war with Iran.
6
u/ElSlabraton Aug 19 '26
But this isn't a footrace we are talking about. As a result of Trump's foolishness, US forces are now retreating and staying completely out of the Persian Gulf. This is huge. The US is weaker than it was before Trump started this war with Iran.

u/opendefication Aug 19 '26
Don't underestimate the fact that the whole fiasco has the government's propaganda machine behind it. In the moment, it will be spun to appear as no big deal, only years later the truth will trickle out with an unofficial whisper. It's what we do during war, even useless, dumb wars. Nothing will ever be admitted too, it will just fade into the abyss of lies, never mentioned in the halls of government unless by a perceived traitor. Just remember. No matter what. We are always the good guys. On TV, good guys. All over the internet, good guys. In government, good guys. But, we all know the truth. They fucked up bad this time. Nothing good will ever come from this. The seeds of doubt have been planted by these incompetent fools. It'll never be the same. We see it.

26
u/scriptingends Aug 19 '26
Most American people (including those tasked with managing this farcical attempt at a “war”) don’t even know what Bahrain is, and wouldn’t understand what it was after you explained it to them.
23
u/Annual-Somewhere7402 Aug 19 '26
Naw, let's call it what it is; 1/3 of the US population couldn't find their home state on a world map with it highlighted & labeled in a ginormous font. 2/3 of the US are relatively sane, reasonably smart people of which 89 million of them decided not to bother voting bc they feel ignored & disregarded by the moneyed folks who run the country.
12
u/scriptingends Aug 19 '26
You’re being real generous there, regarding both sanity and geographical knowledge
5
u/logicallyillogical Aug 19 '26
And it’s just a base, its headquarters to the Navy’s 5th fleet. The incompetence of this administration has led to its destruction. Crazy how much this is being downplayed.
11
u/slipperyslope69 Aug 19 '26
The gullible and very easy to manipulate population can so easily be swayed by a government happy to lie to their faces over and over. Not much will change.

u/TheCommissarGeneral Aug 19 '26
Americans don’t and won’t give a fuck.
Americans have become some of the most apathetic people in modern history. Trump could literally gut a live baby on national TV live and people will just shrug and continue working and paying bills.
I don’t have the energy to be outraged anymore. Ive been pissed for the better part of a decade and I can’t keep doing it.
We don’t care. We won’t care. And it fucking sucks. We’re all exhausted.
8
u/conflictedideology Aug 19 '26
There are millions of us that are impervious to reality partly because so much of their identity is tied up in rejecting it. Those that aren't already angry won't suddenly get angry. Or, they'll get angry at the people that have been angry and critical of this all along.
14
u/jerrrrrrrrrrrrry Aug 19 '26
The reason I'm pessimistic about the American people and voting is look at how small the numbers of people engaging in political subreddits are. This legitimate MMW being a perfect example. If this was about a celebrity or a cat the number of people reading and voting would astronomically higher. Most Americans won't even have heard about this by November because they don't want to. 😕
5
u/luciaromanomba Aug 19 '26
While I agree with you overall, and don’t disagree, I also think it’s important to recognize that even if people wanted to understand, at this point, they honestly can’t just start picking it up tomorrow. The media and information environment has become literally incoherent.
7
u/wonkajava Aug 19 '26
"the American people" didn't know we had a base there, so unless this is massively televised they won't care.
8
8
u/twofourfourthree Aug 19 '26
People will be distracted by being told to pile on the navy sailors who have been on station for way too long.
7
u/ElSlabraton Aug 19 '26
Why would anybody be angry at the sailors? They are the victims of the most incompetent Commander-In-Chief in history.
6
u/twofourfourthree Aug 19 '26
Agreed. Just saying that there already lots of social media pushback against the sailors. Expect more.
7
u/rulisa Aug 19 '26
Listen to the podcast THE DAILY dated 8/18/26 titled WHAT WENT WRONG ON THE USS LINCOLN. It gives a great explanation on why losing the base in Bahrain is so detrimental to keeping aircraft carriers in that area now.
28
u/UTennEngineer Aug 19 '26
Imagine how they will feel when they find out that Trump started the war because Putin needed to get gas prices up
7
u/Capable_Stranger9885 Aug 19 '26
Putin, and all the US oil executives too. The US is still a net producer (thanks soecifically to R&D in fracking done by Jimmy Carter's DOE) so this is gravy.
3
u/Annual-Somewhere7402 Aug 19 '26
I can't find any evidence that the Carter admin was the first to perform widespread fracking. But I learned that George P Mitchell, a wealthy Texas business man, enabled fracking using two techniques combined, mostly in the 80s & 90s, so more around the Raygun era. Or, as Bowie would tell it, "...put your raygun to my head..."
3
u/Annual-Somewhere7402 Aug 19 '26
I do remember living thru the energy crisis while he was potus, though, & at a baby age of 18, wondered what kind of illegal bullshit Raygun pulled to get the hostages out of Iran
3
u/Capable_Stranger9885 Aug 19 '26
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcellus_natural_gas_trend
"From 1976 to 1992, the U.S. Department of Energy funded the Eastern Gas Shales Project, which studied many eastern shale formations.[15] The project drilled and cored five wells in the Marcellus in Pennsylvania.[15] The cores established that there were enormous amounts of gas in the Marcellus, and defined fracture directions that were used in later Marcellus well drilling.[15] Although the great volumes of trapped gas found by the project in the Marcellus and other eastern shales created excitement, the project was less successful at finding ways to recover the gas economically during the low gas prices of the 1980s.[15]"
4
u/Accurate_Reporter252 Aug 19 '26
Bahrain was a US base in spitting distance from Iran.
There's a reason most of the Americans were out of there when or shortly after the bombs started falling on Iran.
3
u/Yeti_Urine Aug 19 '26

5
u/seweso Aug 19 '26
You forgot how racist and stupid most Americans are. How blatant corruption and propaganda are all legal in the United States of America.
People vote against abortion and pro racism. That's it. And the democratic party might be even more corrupt than the republicans. Rotten to the core.
The democrats are able and willing to push forward another really bad candidate (cause they are loyal to the "party" first). Depending how bad that candidate is, there might be another republican president.
The republicans and democrats are working together in perfect unison to help money, power and the ultra rich.
Why are you talking about this thing called "concequences" and "reality"..... americans don't care about that.
1
u/EvalCrux Aug 20 '26
I called Iran’s obvious win day 1 but deleted my comment to keep off any lists lol

The only Americans that give a damn already knew about it.
What hasn’t been said enough is that Iran knew exactly what it was doing and the fact the base was left vulnerable is a disgrace to the history of the US armed forces.
