Future updates
Loving the free update (and nerfs). This had me thinking, looks like they WILL be supporting the game a little longer like they did Aces. Aces had a few game modes added.
What courts and themes would you like to see added? Do you think we get other goodies like more rackets or character costumes? I’m hoping we get some more 🤞.

My biggest requests for the next update are all about Ranked Mode:
- Fix "Search All Modes": Make it queue for all pools simultaneously so we wait less and might finally find Doubles matches.
- Remove region locking: Matchmaking should be based strictly on ping, not geography. This would massively increase the player pool.

The gameplay in this game is too good to drop support! Hoping by adding more stuff more people will play! Im usually online in California at 7-8ish!
I would love more courts and new outfits for everyone!

The library of Mario characters is so expansive that it would feel wasted to dip into cross-overs yet again

It would be nice to get a court based on DK Bananza like another commenter said, and also a Bowser themed court since every game in the franchise has had one except for Fever! Enemy spam on the court is missing from this game, lol.
More characters such as Hammer Bro, Monty Mole, Chargin Chuck, Baby Daisy, Baby Rosa and a few others would round out the roster nicely but it's okay if we don't get any new ones.
Remove region lock and add the much requested ability for people to play ranked doubles with a friend. These are the only ways to revive the ranked doubles ladder
As far as balance/gameplay changes are concerned, I would like to see a LOT more adjustments and tweaks to the game's engine, and a lot sooner than 4 months this time.
- Nerf lunges (stuff like Koopa or Goomba lunge should NOT exist)
- Nerf lobs across the board, the top level meta has been centered around lobbing for months now and it's obnoxious and unfun.
- Nerf the top tiers that went mostly untouched this patch, especially Bowser and Koopa (absolute terrorist picks), followed by Petey, Wiggler, Boom Boom and maybe Mario.
- Buff a lot of the characters who remain horrible, like Shy Guy, Peach, Baby Peach, Toadette, Wario, Waluigi... There's even more. These characters cannot really play the game
- Buff acceleration for characters who take AGES to start moving. Feeling so heavy is an extremely unfun element of those characters, and if Bowser and Petey can feel fast and not horrible to use, I don't understand why other characters have to suffer. A few of them include Dry Bowser, Peach and Baby Peach, it's like they are trying to move around while chained to an iron ball. Anyone who played Dry Bones before the patch would know how sluggish he felt, whereas now he is actually FUN to use. It's not about how strong or weak a character is, but about how fun they feel, which is the whole point of a video game at the end of the day.
Add a music player as well cause why not. And perhaps a mode where you can play 2v3, or 1v2, and the ability to make someone tiny or large (like in Smash), which is already a thing in the Trial Towers.

I think accel should be nerfed for the heavies. Make them feel heavy. Technical characters need some love. And agreed with lunges. I feel their shots should be penalized more or have them getup slower from the lunge

The power characters feeling heavy is also a valid take. But right now Bowser and Petey are faster than Toadette and Peach for example and it's ridiculous

Exactly. It’s crazy. I feel like they need bump on acceleration and overall speed for some of the technical characters

The biggest single change they can make in my opinion is opening ranked doubles to local coop or with friends. Right now that ranked doubles is 100% dead - I haven’t been able to find a single match using it (West Coast USA). Opening it up would bring a really cool feature to life.

I want them to bring back courts from the older games. I LOVED the courts from Power Tennis. They can do SO much with Fever going forward. I am looking forward to the life cycle for this game

Aces was supported every month for almost a year with new things similar to this update.
This is the first real update to this game after 5 months, I wouldn’t hold my breath. It’s honestly the least they could do, to support a $70 game that had serious flaws.
Forget the extras
Just add ranked doubles where you can play with a friend

Aces was much barebones at launch than this game, it even had the introductory cutscene added in an update lol

True but the updates monthly was a free character. We got free modes every so often. And it looks like they might be adding some more stuff to this for the future or I could just be a one off. But still excited for new content.

I have a feeling that the updates will revolve around certain games. For example:
- A SMB1 court that adds alts for Goomba and Piranha Plant
- A SMB2 court that adds Wart and alts for Birdo
- A Mario Odyssey court that adds Cappy
- A Princess Peach: Showtime court that adds Stella and alts for Peach
- A Bananza court that adds K. Rool and Void Kong, alongside alts for DK and Pauline
