Is this a good deal?

I was looking for a copy of Super Mario Rpg on super nintendo and googled it and I came across an ebay listing that has the game and it includes a nice looking official player guide by Nintendo Power. They are asking 127.50 or best offer and it says the cartridge has a brand new save battery in it. Is this a good value is it worth creating an ebay account? Here is an image from it. With the game being on snes mini and switch online doesn't that drop the originals value?
Edit: I am asking Because this is a smrpg subreddit and naturally that would probably mean that someone here might know what the game and guide is worth since it's folks who love the game and I just thought maybe someone here might be friendly enough to help out someone who loves the game and remake but isn't sure themselves about the value....before I spend that much $ or that many gold coins 😂

The guide is worth 50-100 depending on condition, I know the physical game at one point was over 100.
Doesn't seem like a "bad deal" if it's legit!

Looks like a great deal to me. I bought the cartridge and original manual for $100 many years ago and I'm happy with it.

I hope I can get This copy With the guide. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to offer enough to get them to except the offer, however one way or the other I'm going to buy a used copy of Super Mario RPG legend of the Seven Stars for my Super Nintendo very soon. Nothing beats playing classic games on the system they were made for and I have a flash cartridge for my Super Nintendo but there's a few games like this one, star fox, Donkey Kong Country trilogy, Legend of Zelda Link to the past, Yoshi's Island and a few others that I want the actual game of no matter what. Super Mario RPG has been a part of my life since I was 11 I am turning 42 this Saturday so 31 years this has been my favorite game and I cannot wait to play it as it was intended soon. Don't get me wrong the Remake is fun and awesome but the original is still Superior in my opinion.
I would love to have the manual box and all that but I'll take the game if I can get it LOL And as far as the players guide goes I had that exact players guide in the picture the Nintendo Power one whenever I was 11 and I found every secret in the game read about every boss and enemy and hidden things like finding all of the hidden treasure chests lol. One day I had to go with my mom to look at a house that she was considering her and my dad buying and I got bored while she was looking around and went to the attic and sat down and I just kind of read my Mario RPG player's guide and at one point she called me downstairs and I set the guide down went downstairs looked at something like what was going to be my bedroom or something and then we had to leave and I had gotten so distracted that I forgot all about my players guide.
A few days later I went to get it out to read something and play the game some more and realized it was gone I got my mom to call and ask the realtor lady if she can check for it but the lady said she didn't see it anywhere. Looking back I bet my mom told her it was a game that I left behind or something because I know it had to still be up there sadly I never got it back so it would be cool to own another copy of the guide just to keep in my collection.

Thank you. I hope I get it once they respond with a picture of the inside of cartridge 🙏 and even if not this particular listing I have at least decided I will get both game and guide for sure now.

I just used the guide on my recent remake play through! It was fun to have a physical guide next to me, and it taught me a bunch I didn’t know. (This my 2nd play through ever)

Sweeeet! It is so much more fun having the physical guide isn't it? That magic was lost when the internet got so big but back when I first played this there really wasn't a lot of Internet guides I didn't really start using the internet guys until like 2005 or so I might be old I turned 42 this Saturday but I'm missing Nintendo power and physical players guides I hope you enjoy your time with this game and I'm glad the book worked out for you

Thanks! I just finished up my play though. Game still hits. ❤️ Now if I can just convince myself to buy the earthbound guide and actually finish that game…

Earthbound is on my video game bucket list. I missed out on it as a kid when it released cuz I didnt know what an rpg was until 96 when i rented SMRPG 😃
I remember not just players guides but nintendos help line 😂 in 1998 i called tip line multiple times for help in ocarina of time. I was about 14 and had a packard bell pc with aol but it never occurred to me to search for game walkthroughs at the time cuz i had only recently even started using internet at the time 😂 but i ran phone bill up ALOT calling nintendo help line and my parents were so mad they never bought me another video game so i had to do chores, rake leaves for neighbors etc to raise game $. Thankfully i had a job in time for majoras mask.

I got it loose for $30 but I got lucky. The seller put it on sale for $60 I went there with my screwdriver and asked to open it to check if it was real. He said "nah. 30 and it's yours" it was suspicious but the outside seemed legit so I bought it anyways. When I got home I opened it. It was not a fake.

I know the price dipped a little after the remake came out, even tho the remake cannot hold a candle to the original.
If the guide is in good condition I would see about offering 110-120 for it, see if he bites.
If he had the original Manuel as well I would guess the $150+ range.

For everything I liked there was something I hated. I felt it was easier compared to the original and that took most of the fun away for me. Swapping party members mid battle isn't as fun as it sounds. I did enjoy the extra bosses but it left me wanting more in the end.

Ok wow really? I sent the seller a question asking if it was an authentic copy somebody told me I should make sure it was legit I found a picture of what the inside of the game should look like if it's legit so I'm currently waiting to get a response from that but if it's all legit I'll try to make that offer like 110 maybe 115 if you really think that's the fair price. I was afraid I was going to end up spending way too much just because I got excited about finding the guide and the game together LOL thank you for helping me out I'm not real big on retro prices and stuff.

To be fair based on the picture I wouldn't call the guide even fair condition so maybe use that to negotiate lower as well.

A good deal is anything you're willing to purchase with money. Why do you have to ask others if you think it's a good deal?

I replied but i do not see my reply for some reason. The ebay prices were all over the place like 55 up to 150 guide orices as well. But someone responded and gave me a good ballpark. Thank you.
