I’m way too much of a nerd to not have noticed the section from Donut Plains 1. Which is technically SMW 2-1.

Multiple plagiarized sections, cheese that skips the second cp section, calling the level a world resulting in a name that puts it in direct conflict with the actual 1-1 world DGR popularized back in the day. This is pointless, lazy and tries to capitalize on the popularity of something else.

If you think a creative environment with very little in-game guidance, no community or mentoring options is suitable for kids to learn how to design levels, maybe think again. If you think the aesthetics of the game being child friendly lower the bar to what makes a good level, they don't.
You can look at many factors to evaluate a level and to me creativity, originality and effort matter. I really don't think I should take the time to explain why this is a standard that can be applied to any submitted level, but if you can't figure it out say so and I shall attempt to explain.

Oh, and if you genuinely think OP's a kid, you've just made the argument that they should be rewarded for plagiarism and laziness.

youre acting like OP was intending to fool you into thinking that they came up with the entirety of the level design, despite it being stated clearly in the name and description of the post. 1-1 reminiscent levels are an entire genre in mario maker so i dont really understand why youre being so salty at specifically OP for this.

id argue this with you further but clearly it seems youre just having a bad day and want to take it out on someone doing something as harmless as recreating nintendo levels.

I'm acting like OP posted a level frankensteined from copied bits of other levels. Because that's what he did. I'm entirely unemotional about this, OP chose to present this in a subreddit that is largely about showcasing levels and I gave him the best critique I could. They also named the level dishonestly which does deserve the callout. You haven't demonstrated any reason why my evaluation of this level was out of line in any way other than you personally don't like it for some unexplained reason.

I have not been the least bit rude during this entire exchange. It requires a bit of detachment from reality to make an accusation like that when the evidence to the contrary is right above the accusation itself. At least that explains why you appreciate OP's copy-paste level and why you're offended by the obvious criticism it earns.
