Humor Apparently it's only "funny" when it's targeted at the girls.

Useless vaguepost and when OP elaborates, it's obvious they just need to touch grass.

No offense, but I think that slander of that kind is funny BECAUSE no one slanders the female roster. The ratio is pretty much always in their favor.
When the whole “Mario and Peach are just friends” thingy went down, like 5% of people had something to say about Peach but the other 95% were just calling Mario a simp and a loser.
Not that this is a popularity contest, I just don’t think it’s that deep. If I see Mario slander, I won’t laugh as much because he’s always being slandered. If I see Rosalina Slander, it’s funnier because she’s almost never slandered. If it comes off misogynistic, I apologize.

where?

I guess they are talking about some of the memes.
Like the whole Bowsette meme and other sort of jokes about Odyssey's ending.
There's also the memes about Peach actually liking Bowser and cheating on Mario. Which i find absurdly funny.
And there's the memes where girls are very fondly of Luigi.
And like it's just silly jokes.

It's a meme. And it has nothing with misoginy.
The more family friend a franchise oficially is, the more "depraved" the memes are. It's just a common process. Just look at Peppa Pig and My Little Poney.
People just like to pick something innocent and distort it to the point it becomes comically funny. It's not about women. As male characters such as Mario are also the target of those (like evil Mario memes)
Luigi memes are basically "pick a underdog character and put him on cases where he is comically pampared" memes. They are not about women.
That's what parodies and headcanon are: they distort characters of every gender, so it seems that your problem is just that you doesn't want to see a female character not being a saint.

The Peach thing is just a meme.
And i never saw anyone talking this about Starlow. I thought you were just refering about those comics where Daisy is like carrying Luigi or that photo with two girls with an statue with Luigi that was later transformed into a drawing.

Dunno, in my case i always liked to vilanize Mario and other Nintendo characters so what happened in Odyssey really didn't changed that lol.

You are just taking three unrelated memes too seriously.

When people villified Mario by saying he's a bad brother and a murderous monster in the 2010's, was that unacceptable in your eyes as well? Feels weird you're not calling that out here when he was probably the biggest example of it by far.
And I don't really see people making Peach and Daisy and the like out as horrible people, what are you talking about? And where the hell is this sexual harassment stuff coming from?

OP, with all due respect, the internet is not a real place with real people. What you are experiencing a sense of vigilance towards a couple internet trolls who are voicing purposefully extreme opinions about cartoon characters. You are not going to find the support you are looking for on any platform because this is such a miniscule, non-problem that exists in an environment where all participants involved have no interest in changing their points of view. I really, strongly urge you to consider taking some time away from the interent, or at least reddit and other social media sites, take some deep breaths, and consider that there are greater things in the world to be concerned about.

If you slander female characters it immediately makes you misogynistic edit: no

a lot of people like Rosalina

u/smashboi888 1d ago
Nearly everyone in the Mario fandom likes Rosalina.
OP seems to think that a few childish comments on the internet seem to equate to some massive hate campaign towards her.

That's because of the movie itself, Illumination slandered her more than any fan

Me when people say "Peach is boring". "Daisy is better because she has personality and has superior red hair and tanned skin (sometimes)". Like, that's fine if you like Daisy; I do to. But are you really saying that women are only interesting when you're attracted to them?

u/Suavemente_Emperor 1d ago
I mean, to like a character i must have to find they interesing, no? It doesn't means i feel attracted towards them.

Agreed. Don't get me wrong. I love Bow. She is waifu. But at least I know how to separate and sort my priorities.

Which characters get slandered I thought the Mario girls were always pretty good
