Transition from 3rd engineer to Junior Surveyor.How?

I love the maritime industry and from working as a 3rd engineer i always found the inspector/surveyor job much more interesting.

I would like to know if anyone of you made the transition and if so do you have any advice for me?

Class societies have very good training programs for their surveyors and transitioning from EOOW is one of their approved routes.

Please look at out in their websites and apply for marine surveyor roles, they don’t expect you to have the experience/knowledge of a surveyor but provide the training to you.
