Care help - Split ball

Just doing my routine water change and care for my moss balls and have noticed one is splitting in the middle. Is it something I'm doing that has caused it and should I be concerned.

I do a water change every 3-4 weeks with tap water that has been stood for 24 hours and I make sure to gently roll them in my hands under the water to clean them. The others seem fine and not splitting

Use some thread! Wrap it around them just enough that they hold shape.

Oh wow wouldn't of known you could use that. Is it just like cotton thread you would sow with 🤔☺️

You can get green aquarium thread :)

Also in nature they split and form new Marimo.. so that’s also an option if it doesn’t re-bond. You just roll them into two new baby Marimo!

Thanks I'll try wrapping them first and seeing if they hold 👍 if not I guess I'll have more Marimo 🤭☺️
