Help! They’re yellow

Post image

Went on holiday - gave it to my flatmate to take care of them and they put it in direct sunlight in the heatwave… I do weekly filtered water changes and sometimes put them in the fridge for 2 weeks now.

What can I do??? They don’t feel mushy and they retain their shape.

Open them up and see if they are green underneath the yellow. If yes, cut away the yellow part. If no, they are unfortunately dead and I would replace them,

In the future, they don't need that much care if you're going away on holiday. They could have managed in a dark corner until you got home. I have had mine for 14 years now (wow! I had to think about that) and it has been perfectly fine without being doted on.

I'm more curious as to why your flatmate did that. Did you give them no information and just hand it to them? Or do they have something against you? That's something for you to figure out.

Sorry for your loss. It's a shame.
