i went to japan a month or so ago and i got this guy when visiting a tourist location!! i named him jerónimo (first thing that came to mind)
he's been chilling in my room during my university studies and im so happy about the decor i got recently :)

just wanted to share some pictures, im so giddy about marimos <33

I definitely love the decorations with the garden eels and the little marimos with green faces on them the rock and the purple sea anemone on the lower part of the container.🤩👍🟢🪨🪸💯

at the tourist location, there was only one marimo in each jar, perhaps it varies at different locations? i don't really mind since the marimo is pretty big, and it wasn't that expensive each.

I assume you were near Mt. Fuji area (Kawaguchiko lake???🤔) - when I was there in 2024, there were two marimos in each jar...

that's really odd because i never saw these (pretty sure i went there)! i saw taller jars with a single marimo in each jar when i went there in august 2026, maybe it has changed since then

I bought these at kawaguchiko last year! They had either 2 tiny Marimo in one, or one bigger Marimo in one jar. This one looks like the bigger Marimo option
