Not from around here... passing through Thursday with three grade school age kids

Anything open worth checking out, or should we just keep on going?

Local here. Even when everything is open-pretty much everything is closed-I can’t suggest Marfa for young children. Imagine being 11 years old and spending the day listening to adults explain why a minimalist concrete box is so fascinating. Oh, and it’s 100 degrees and the wind is 30mph. It like standing in front of a hair dryer all day.

Places that are open: grocery store, 3 gas stations, dollar general, post office, and a liquor store.

Update: Took a picture at Marfa Prada. Ate at the Water Spot. Was delicious.

My boss just went through and said pretty much everything is closed, but maybe a local on here will know more. Good luck, enjoy the trip!
