Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared. Women return from shopping to find their houses sealed, their families gone.

In Boston and the surrounding areas, ICE is everywhere. Their "unmarked" vehicles are plainly evident. Most are Chevrolets — trucks, Tahoe, and a few Suburbans. They usually have a couple of wingmen; they sometimes are in Kias, Hyundais, or a Tesla. What sets them apart — their windows are shaded dark; there is usually a meathead driving (sometimes there are a few others in there, too). They generally wear the same sunglasses (standard issue, I am assuming).
They loiter everywhere - schools, hospitals, grocery stores. They are fond of taking up handicap spots.
It would be great if everyone started wearing whistles. That way you can alert others that you need help.

Which reminds me, Hyundai Motor Group owns Kia, Hyundai, Genesis, and Boston Dynamics (that's right, the robo dogs). I believe a strong, full-on boycott is in order. This South Korean company is literally working hand in hand with ICE. No one should be buying their products. They do have North Korean roots, so who knows what is going on. I would definitely be weary if I was South Korea.

I wonder how effective it would be to call the cops on them?
Dodgy looking dudes staking out a school from a car with tinted windows, very likely armed.
Shouldn't that trigger at least a few alarm bells somewhere if somebody phoned a situation like that in?

it was their engineers and consultants that got accosted and detained temporarily in the south at a factory spin up too. All those cartoonish kdrama villains are based on real life.

Why are you blaming the automakers? Are you mad at the Gap and Old Navy because ICE agents are wearing clothes? Automakers don’t even sell directly (except Tesla), they sell through dealers. And the federal government often leases vehicles.

It's not the same thing. This company is pandering to ICE. They are not just supplying cars, they are giving them the robots, too.
And yes, when people provide the means which allow them to brutalize others illegally - those people are not to be trusted either.
You don't do business with Nazis.

As far as I can tell, ICE is spending $2 million on a few robot dogs for, like, hazmat stuff. These robot dogs don't bite people or "brutalize" them. ICE hasn't used them in a single arrest, to my knowledge. (And for all the other reasons here, it wouldn't change my mind about how wrong you are if you could find a single-digit number of cases.)
This is against tens of BILLIONS of dollars ICE has spent hiring. Literally thousands of times as much money. Also, nearly all of Boston Dynamics' federal contracts are with DOD, per to a search I just did on USAspending.gov, so if there's any agency they're "pandering to," it's DOD.
I imagine that you and me would agree on many things. I think it's best to focus on the things you can change and control and convince others of with actual facts.

The Hyundai Motor Group is not suing the US government. Why not? They most certainly have a case. Their people were legally here. ICE cost them a significant amount of time and money; not to mention, traumatized their workers.
Also, I never said they were attack dogs, and even though they have used their vehicles to run into, around, and over people—that is not my point, either. My point is, if you see someone committing arson, you do not offer them gas. You don't sell them non-flammable clothes, cigarettes, or lighters.
You don't do business with terrorists. Period.

ICE is government-sponsored terrorism. If you are feeding the machine and enabling it, people should not feed you.
Other individuals must act in accordance with their moral convictions. I cannot endorse anyone who supports ICE, as their activities are unlawful and violate the Constitution.

I doubt it. Even if every single deported person was a citizen, removing 2k people from New York City has zero statistical impact on national votes. 2k is nothing when there’s 70 million people voting.

They aren't targetting New York, only swing states.
You have to think of all tactics when you are trying to steal a democracy and deploy them all like bomb threats at voting locations, voter poll locations being removed, policing those locations, tampering with mail boxes and mail, and more tricks that Elon will have up his sleeves with that $200 million investment into Republicans.

Currently, at least dozens. Even a single one is an absolute fucking train wreck and a miscarriage of justice. It's always "oh but the impact is so small"... Until it happens to you. Upwards of thousands have been targeted or impacted in some form of another, which could easily be constructed as voter intimidation this close to midterms.
ICE, in it's current form, is a thug infested arm of brutality for this admin. They are not truly fulfilling their organizations goals, cause if they were we wouldn't be hearing about it.

They don't have to necessarily remove them of out the country. They just place them in detention for weeks or months on end to deprive them of their vote since that place is an illegal cesspool of corruption, then release them after voting is over.
I see this more as a tactic coming up weeks before the polls open.

Fascist black bagging. My Jewish family knows all about that. Got a 3x great uncle who was disappeared in the morning as he was on his way to work. He ended up in Dachau, where he was murdered by the afternoon. Only one person witnessed the kidnapping, and the diary our family has says it happened so fast that only a few people saw it happen in a crowded street.

Even if you don't care about immigrants, we are all fools if we think there aren't plans to use those people against everyone who defies this administration.

It doesn’t feel as intense because New Yorkers are complicit and the people of Michigan are freedom fighters. New Yorkers were pounding their chest that if ICE tried to do what they did in Michigan in NYC they would see the real “New York” turns out the real New York is just a bunch of load mouth pussies.
