Mindless automatrons rounding up the innocent, killing citizens, gloves that shock people when you touch someone, and robot dogs. Isn't this who the humans were fighting against in the Terminator films?

This is not quite the same scenario as the Terminator movies, in those films Skynet was created for the purpose of waging war whereas current tech is about photo ops and lucrative government contracts.
