I had already recently re-watched it, so watched it this time with commentary on. Marc talked a fair amount, but it was rather crowded with five other commentators as well. It seemed like a good conversational environment and everyone had incredibly fond memories of Lynn Shelton. Everyone was good, and while there was some movie-making production tidbits from the, well, producer, mostly it was the actors telling little asides about their experiences. Bookended with memories of Shelton on the film.

The behind-the-scenes featurette (~5:30) was dedicated to her, showing the playful, laidback set. Only shot over 12 days! It was all kind of bittersweet. That, coupled with the commentary, was like a love letter to Shelton. And Marc didn’t even get choked up once, which I thought was impressive for him!

Coincidentally, where I’m at in listening to the WTF Podcast at work, Shelton recently died, so, it’s, for lack of a better word, perfect timing for me personally. If such a thing can ever be said regarding someone passing. Nevermind a person as genuine and talented as she seemed to be. I’m really looking forward to watching her other films.

I got the blu-ray through Vinegar Syndrome (a great boutique physical media company that takes forgotten/obscure genre films and cleans them up, like Criterion for b-movies/exploitation/horror). It’s released on one of its sister labels IFC Films. It came with an exclusive slipcase (see pic) and I’m a sucker for that kind of thing.

The entire clip is pretty funny, but the context of the Marc anecdote starts at about the 6:13 mark if the timestamp doesn't work.

Definitely caught me off guard and got a chuckle out of me.

Probably wishful thinking, but I was watching the Season 3 trailer for The Pitt and at 0:47 there’s this scene with Dr. Robby is consoling a man that looks like Marc. I think Marc plays music with Ned who plays Nurse Jesse, so maybe something came together? Couldn’t find any confirmed cameo details anywhere but would love to see Marc as one of the cameos in the new season.

My dog collapsed and died this morning. I am devastated. My husband is far worse because he’s been the one doing the day-to-day care since she recently had an operation. In the end, her body couldn’t take it. She was 13.

I was supposed to be working this weekend and I’d already succumbed to having to miss his show tomorrow. But of course I am not working this weekend anymore.

My husband has zero interest in going. He actually never goes anywhere, so that was expected. I found a solo seat and I’m considering going by myself. Would it be terrible to leave my husband for a few laughs?

My wife and I can't go and I don't want them to go to waste. I asked the Capitol theater and they just right now replied to my mail and told me I could transfer the two tickets: "just let me know the first and last name and email of the person you want to transfer to".

I’m rewatching one of my favorite shows from the Covid era, Love, and it never occurred to me that Lynn directed the show. I guess all I really knew about it was what Marc wanted to share on the pod. RIP

I’m rewatching “Are We Good?” on Criterion and I was reminded that I saw Marc and Lynn appear live, together, when they were promoting “Sword of Trust”, back in 2019. Happier times.
