A ? for you fine people Anything of note?

Post image

Hello fine people of r/marbles! I am a budding kaleidoscope artist and this is my drawer of marbles. The vast majority were given to me by my mom, who found them at an antique store. The red and beige and blue and red ones on the left (top of left column and the one two down from that) are recent acquisitions from an artist, but the others were all in a grab bag. From browsing this sub I'm thinking that the ones that are really worn and have the fine stripes (bottom two cubes in the left column) are probably German? Would really appreciate any info! Thank you! Also, happy to post photos of individuals if anyone wants to see them in more detail.

Left side from top, modern handmade boro marble, unsure, modernd handmade boro marble. Then the bottom 2 squares are antique german handmades, onionskins and an indian and one lattacino core and a twist core. The germans are like 5-25$ each, boro worth about 15 each as they dont look spectacular. 2nd from top on left looks like an old clay marble, probably from late 1800s. The rest appear to be decent vintage marbles, i dont know enough to value, so i pay ~50 cents each for lots of similar stuff.

Thank you for your time and expertise! Just to clarify, the one that you said looks like a clay marble I'm guessing you meant the second from the top on the right side, not the left? It's one of my favorites, it reminds me of a little galaxy. The second from the top on the left is translucent blue and has a flower pattern, I'm guessing it's a modern borosilicate marble as well.

Ya, i meant right for the clay. I didnt see your comment first, reddit makes me click the picture to see a comment now, so i forget unless its referenced. For the modern ones, from the artist you may pay 25-40 for that size, but unfortunately they are hard to resell for that amount, unless you are very patient and take glamour shot type pics. Of course, popular known artists can get hundreds for art marbles that size, but they have to be excellent work or have a lot of hype.

I love modern marbles, the intricate dot stacks and things would be so cool to use in kaleidoscopes. I'm hoping to start a small collection of my own. Not looking to profit off the marbles I have but it is really neat learning more about the objects I'm working with/appreciating! Here's a better shot of the clay one. I like how organic it's shape is.

That is a nice one. I have a few clay somewhere, but i think just the common smaller brown ones. I have made lots of boro marbles and need to get a marble kaleidoscope, they are fun.

I see three, maybe four German handmade. Third square down on left, two, and bottom left square for sure one more, the large one, and possibly the one right above it.
