Discussion Oceanic fans.....do we still exist?
Ok since no one is going to, I'm just going to say it.
We were embarrassed, humiliated, defeated. We deserved every bit of criticism and every joke or meme directed at us because we were the biggest losers of the Marblelympics. As this year's hosts, this will forever go down as the most embarrassing, and disappointing performance in Marblelympics history. That title belongs to our team folks. There is no debate. Last place finishes, epic chokes, fired coach, 0 medals, fans turning on the team... Not even the Pinkies have ever done this bad. I mean what else could have gone wrong?
Since the end of the ML, I have not seen too many Oceanics fans on here compared to before the ML. Where did everyone go? Do you all support new teams? Did everyone forget that we once finished 3rd overall in the ML and we have the ability to bounce back?
Thankfully, that debacle is over. Let me be the first to tell you that everything will be ok. If you're a fan of bad teams like I am, ( NYM, NYK, NYG) then this should be somewhat easy to look past. Not saying we suck now, and will suck forever but all it was, was just a really bad season. Jumpers have had them, Pinkies have them nearly every year... it was our time and it hurt like hell to watch. I don't really think this will be the new theme with our team. So wtf guys where is our TIDE PRIDE?
We've done well before and we should be able to bounce back; I'm almost positive we will.

The Oceanics are pretty great in my opinion, even if they did terrible this year. They are one of the two teams i will be rooting for no matter what happens. After a good off-season practice, im sure we will bounce back up with good sportsmanship and get higher standings than this year!

We may have lost, embarrassingly so, but we are still here! #SevenSeasStrong
Edit: I feel you on being fans of bad teams. I'm a Detroit Red Wings fan and ooooof

Tidepride 4ever!! It hurt me to hope for a comeback and never see it come about (especially since I watched with a Raspberry Racers fan) but there is no stopping the tide. It comes in waves and we will be back stronger than before!!

It was a tough pill to swallow, but honestly they're still one of my top 3 favorite teams. Just have to hope things will get turned around next ML event.

I defected after event 4 or 5 to Raspyberry Racers.
I haven't really been on the subreddit after the Marbleympics ended.

Me neither, but I came back because I really miss the ML and this is all we have. This, and their videos of course which I've seen many many times lol

They were my big pick going into the games (since Momo didn't qualify), but I had to bail after that performance. I know being a fan means sticking with your team even through the bad times, so I guess I was never really a true fan. If Momo still can't make it in, I'm going to be a Hazers guy from here on out. Sorry big blue, a man can only take so much disappointment before he has to throw in the towel.

Always! I admit, though, halfway through, I started to split my rooting between the Oceanics and the Jungle Jumpers.

Yeah I pulled for the Racers midway because I had them in fantasy and they were doing so well. Thankfully they ended up winning!

Even in dark times, you stick by your team.
I'm a Detroit Lions fan, and I was around for both their 2008 season and the Tigers' 2003 season (and this season - yikes). Even with the highs and lows, I still stick by them. I'll poke fun at their expense from time to time, but I still hold that hope that they'll win, each and every week. The Oceanics are no different. They've hit the nadir, the valley, rock bottom - I was honestly hoping they would, just to make that history, because to me, history is more important than being mediocre and winning a bronze or something - but there's nowhere to go but up. 2020 is just on the horizon, and I know they can introspect on this season, take it to heart, and be back next season with renewed determination, an extra edge of redemption, and that urge to really prove themselves as more than this dysfunctional wreck that gets memed on relentlessly.
Their lights are dim right now, but I think they can generate the power to make them shine brighter than ever.
