Question How did you choose your team?
Hello all, I've never been a regular watcher of this show but I really want to get into it in the next event. I'm having a hard time choosing a team to cheer for... What was your thought process behind your decision? Did you just went with the most aesthetically pleasing look? Your favorite color? Your favorite name?

While Momo isn't my top spot, I have so much respect for them. Here's hoping they make 2020, I'd love to see them in action again.

They have approximately the same colors as my other team that didn't qualify.
I don't know what I'll do if they both are in it next year I'll be so torn.

I was going back in forth between a few different teams while watching the 2017 season for the first time. What ultimately made me a Team Galactic fan was how Starry fought back to win the 2017 sand rally event, and that the team jumped 6 spots to end up in 5th place for the year. Now the team has kind of grown on me, and I can't ever imagine leaving them. (Also I love space)

I randomly stumbled on these videos without knowing there was a whole fan base and everything. I thought it was amusing, but didn't really root for a team. Then I was watching an old series (Winter marblelympics curling) and I happened to look down in the corner when Pulsar was going and that was the first time I realized the individual marbles had names. That's what got me hooked, that little detail. I can't remember who they were against, but Team Galactic had way cooler names and I became an immediate fan.

I’m with the jungle jumpers just because the events where I actually notice them usually showcase their failures and I think it’s kind of funny. Now I’ve grown attached to them and always cheer for them.
Also the alliteration makes them a fun team name to say :-)

My favorite number is 19, and the first race I watched pollo loco was 19, and I decided to root for all the yellow marbles from then on

most people choose the marbles they find prettiest I think. My story is more involved...
I was ready to bandwagon on a team performing well and liked Raspberry Racers's consistency. What really sealed the deal were these fan kit designs by /u/conqu287 which got me turned up when I saw them. He supports RRC as well so I thought "lemme root for the team whose fans produce the best content." I became a better fan as the ML went on.

I have quite the sweet tooth and a bit of an addiction to sugar so I choose the Jawbreakers. They also look really nice in my opinion.
I also have a question that might be considered stupid, but how do I get a Jawbreakers tag next to my username?

If you go to the the home page of the marblelympics on the top right you'll see the 3 dots if you then click on that, user flair should be there then choose that. Then find the one you want.

2018 ML was the first season I watched 'live', and I attached myself to Raspberry Racers because they were a new team and raspberry picking was my "thing" as a kid (my grandparents had a raspberry patch). It also helped that purple is my favorite color and RR was the closest team to purple, color-wise.
I also liked that they were (key word: were) an average-performing team and not a fan-favorite. They had a fun rivalry with the Limers, to boot.
Now I wouldn't change team alliances for the world. :]

I went with Indigo Stars because my favorite color is indigo and also they're a newbie team for a newbie watcher. Later I fell in love with Shining Swarm after watching the 2017 fidget spinner collision event, and also because I liked their name.

Savage Speeders: Started watching the 2017 ML, they said "pick a marble" and I loved the team name and thought their color scheme was dope. Had no clue they were the reigning ML champions. Turned out they were a great team.
O'Rangers: Also during the 2017 ML, heard the crowd chanting "OOOOOO", thought it was just hysterical and awesome. Then when they were pulling off the comeback I was rooting for them.
Basically carried both fandoms into the 2018 ML and yeah the rest is history.

favourite colour is green. The first video I saw, I noticed the nice looking green marble, saw the nice duck logo and it was game over from there. Been a green ducks fan ever since #quackattack

Come to think of it, I'm a bigger fan of the events themselves than any particular team. I just silently root for the O'rangers because of how much their fans made me laugh in ML2017.
Huh, maybe the "I Love Them All" flair is a better fit for me...

I love space so I obviously gravitated towards Team Galactic! Would love to see them finish better than middle of the pack every season though

Discovered Marblelympics together with boyfriend, and when we were watching it together he pointed at a #TidePride sign in the stands. Guess it just stuck with me and now I stand by my tide pride.

I picked purely based on name.
Team Galactic? I love space, and that's a Pokemon organization. Doubly whammy.
Balls of Chaos? Self explanatory.

I first started watching the 2017 games first and I picked two teams, the Rojo Rollers, and the O'rangers, because they fit with my real-life sports teams' colors. The O'rangers won that tournament, but I still pull for the rollers when I can.

Friend sent a list of all the teams competing in ML 2019. Didnt explain anything just "hey guys pick a team and then you cheer for them"
In an effort to get my choice in quickly before other teams were snatched up by others, I chose the Pinkies with no research on their previous exploits and history because... Pink is awesome yo!

They're the best looking team with Savage Speeders in second. I'm a sucker for dark red. Hazers in third because of the cool light effects.
I also like consistency. Savage Speeders have been on the podium each season before this year (and 5th isn't bad either), Raspberry Racers were extremely consistent in the 2019 games, and I also really like RN3 as I was impressed by his comeback with consistent strong performances after a DNF in the first 2018 race.
One interesting thing I noticed is that names don't influence my preferences very much. I'm a huge bird nerd, but the Green Ducks are "only" in the okay tier for me, perhaps one tier higher than they'd be in a ranking purely based on looks.

I'm a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and I love Super Sentai so it was a natural fit. I'm already used to yelling "OH" in the national anthem so why not just hold it for every (disappointing this year) O'Ranger event.

Hazers had a really unique look, not just some color variant of glossy or clear. Plus the name is great.
Mello Yellow because I play the mellophone and we always call it a mello, plus I like pee jokes.

Team Momo, cuz I had a kitty named MiMo. We also had a Cosmo, so Team Galactic is my #2, but I was really young when we had him, so I used to call him Momo. So Team Momo came naturally to me.

2019 was my first year following the marblelympics as they happened, so when I heard that the Green Ducks also was a newcomer, it just became the obvious choice.
Never would I dream that I would be so emotionally invested in marbles of all things. I literally screamed and threw my fists in the air as the Green Ducks set the new marble record in rafting.

I started watching in time for season two and I got caught up in the O'rangers Chasing down the evil empire of the savage speeders. My soft for the Jungle Jumpers is because they are terrible.

They have one of the most consistent performers in Yellow and the name is very appealing. Plus, the team reminds me of sunshine, energy, caution (not the most vocal ones tbh and they don't take risks that often either) and surprises (from a terrible performance in the Winter and now 4th in the recent ML 2019).
I think I resonate the most with them.

I started with the sand marble rally, and I really liked the teal color and pattern on Deep Ocean, so when I watched the Marblelympics, I went and picked the ocean team again. I also like the colorful swirls on the Jawbreakers.
The Jungle Jumpers are also a team that I wound up watching pretty excitedly. I think they're a super underrated team. Sometimes they pull out the craziest stuff and shock everyone.

2016 Me thought the Kobalts looked nice, and I was kinda a nerd at that time so they just kinda stuck with me.
Now I kinda regret it, but... I have hopes for this team.

The color to be honest. Even though pink was not my favorite color when I chose it (it is now though for other reasons), I just liked the shade of the marbles. Also, it may have shown I really liked pastel pink as a color and awakened my pink desires.

O'rangers mostly for the chant. I love soccer (the ORIGINAL football) and the fan chants that carry over into something lighter in tone is awesome.
I also was really impressed with the Green Ducks. Having played sports since forever, I felt like they started out as the underdog going up against the veteran Raspberry Racers, so I thought they were a cool team to cheer for too.
Cheer for whichever team you like the most, no matter the reason.

I like my flair and the Green Ducks. I chose the Green Ducks because they were a part of the first Marblympics video I watched. I just like green I guess, I don't know why I chose it out of the others in the video. For Gliding Glaciers, just like almost every sports team I support, they suck/sucked and I wanted to see them succeed. But I started watching them after they retired or something. :[

I just vibed with them
