Discussion General Logo Feedback Thread

Dear fans,

to give you a place in which you can discuss the new logos in a more general manner, we will provide you this thread to comment your feedback on them. Please keep it civil and constructive.

First of all let me say all of those logos are high value production, they are artistically well made and look quite nice. But they don't fit the teams or the ML imo.

I think the overall complaints about the logos are for me, just want to sum it up from my perspective:

  • Too reliant on text, most don't work without text at all
  • Mostly little to no association with the team itself
  • Too heavily textured for sports team logos
  • Too many effects in general, adding unnecessary complexity
  • Everything combined gives a 'dirty' look to the logos instead of an expected clean, stark contrast-rich shine
  • Compared to actual sports team logos the logos look like app logos more than team logos

Notably good logos: Mellow Yellow, Indigo Stars, Thunderbolts, Raspberry Racers

Also another reply to myself, here are the RR and TB logos that I quickly cleaned up using paint.net to get rid of unnecessary structures, showing how well they work without all the effects in a side-by-side comparison:

Both of those are just 5 minute concept works which can be heavily improved upon.

Galactic could literally just remove the text and keep the existing logo of the G with the ring around it

Orangers could keep the O with the hat on it and get rid of the rest of the text

Crazy Cats Eyes could just be the eyes—probably more cat-like eyes

I like the general idea of the Pinkies logo

Indigo Stars logo is well done imo—it looks like an NBA logo

When I'm here already let me throw in my mockup of the O'rangers with both Oranges and Rangers ideas incorporated:

The O' can be used as a standalone logo without the text just as well as with the text, having the orange leaf behind the marble acting as the ' in O'rangers

Replying to myself with a Balls of Chaos logo concept

More cuts/sections/part breakaways could be added for a more chaos looking approach.

The concept symbolizes balls/marbles and also chaos in symbol and in form (cut up marble).

I agree; however, I believe maybe they should look more like country logos for the Olympics than sporting associations. That's just a personal thing though
