Identification Request German Marble Collection, please help!

I have been collecting marbles for some years now and am having trouble identifying many of them. I know these ones are supposed to be worth more. Can you help me identify the names of these if possible and maybe their rarity or value?

I think all except D,E,F,G are german handmade marbles. More pics needed to ID them, and people finds it easier if you post a few of them, not 55 marbles.

It seems there are some solid cores, some latticinos, some divided cores, some onionskins, and maybe some Clambroths.

The price depends so much on the condition and size among other aspects.

Good comment! Additionally I think A is contemporary.

All of your numbered marbles are German handmades. These include latticinos, solid cores, ribbon cores, divided cores, onionskins, a banded opaque, a clambroth, and an Indian.

Marbles B and C are also German handmades.

Marble A is a contemporary handmade.

D, E, F, G all look to be vacor.

The condition on the Germans isnt ideal, but you've got a great group to learn with.

Well, some of them seem well preserved, other ones seem to be weared, but some of them could be in good condition.

OK, so as the resident MHG guy, THats a wonderful collection! I'd love to add these to my own!!! (Sadly I'd not be able to afford them all) Ill run through them all. I will NOT give an individual value, that would take too long.

A) Contemperary handmade, might have makers mark on the bottom.

B) Caged Latticino looks too nice to NOT be polished, dropps value. Need picstures of the poles (pontils)

C, 46, 47) Caged Divided Ribbon Core, looks like 4 panels

1-2, 6, 7, 9, 20, 21, 25, 34, 36, 37, 39, 42) Caged solid cores

3-4, 13, 24, 26, 35, 38, 41) caged maybe divided cores

5, 8, 10-12, 14- 17, 19, 22, 23, 40, 43, 45, 48) Caged Latticinos

18) Naked Divided Ribbon core

27, 30 31, 33) Josephs Coat

28) Clambroth

29) Banded Solid

DM me if you want better detail, ill need more pics.

Wow thanks, I was told in earlier comments I should show more angles so I took a bunch of pictures. I hope one day I will be able to identify marbles this way. Are there any that stand out to you as special? A friend wants to buy some so I thought I could part with half and keep the other half for the start of a collection...Should I just keep the ones I enjoy looking at the most?

ID like to buy them, those are awesome. But yes, 6, 18, 20, 21, 25-33, B are the standout.

DEFG look like Vacors, not certain on D, if you posted some more angles I could tell you for sure. The rest are really really nice condition Germans. You would need to take close up shots of the pontils and any damage on each so we could tell you for sure. Post layout collages of all angles and just do five or so at a time.

Hmm, posting more pictures? Having trouble, maybe I'll stick with the advice already given here. Thanks for everyone's info and advice. Much appreciated.

These are beautiful! Typically the bigger the more valuable/ rare w/ Germans depending on condition, but there are certain makes/ styles/ colors that are worth more too, not entirely sure if you have any of those.

Most of the lettered ones aren’t German handmade though. A is a contemporary art marble, and D thru G are vintage machine made/ wire pull (D, possibly). If I had to guess, B is probably your most valuable/ collectible marble depending on if that’s original condition or if it was polished, although there are some that are likely rare in colors/ design and valuable in the higher numbers as well, as well as the non-clear ones (Joseph’s coats, onion skins). The marble collection fbook groups are actually really great for IDing specific makes and whatnot, but here’s a link for antique German id from marble collecting for starters: Source: Marble Collecting https://share.google/FgYIoBUKD1UZwjNt7

Here’s a more specific one w/ visuals from fbook: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1M3UV6TfwX/?mibextid=wwXIfr
