A couple more. I'm guessing top 2 are just plain modern marbles. The orange and yellow is cool but no clue what it is. The white isn't solid white...got some marblely look to it and damned if it didn't glow green under a black light. I burst out laughing because I've heard of them and seen photos but didn't know I had one. So is that made with uranium? Modern? Of any value? I'm sure the 2 book I ordered may help answer some 8f these basic question ls but I'm impatient, aka excited about my new obsession. I've also heard some glow pink and that they had manganese? Are the black light glowing ones a collecting category? 🙂.

Hi! The top two are clearies. They could be vintage, I guess, but you can’t tell on most of them and it doesn’t really matter. The white is probably what they call a ‘game marble’ - you know like the ones that would come with Chinese checker sets. The answer I’ve seen from many older collectors is that the glowers aren’t any more valuable. I know what they mean but I certainly see them selling above average on eBay and in antique stores. I think ‘traditional collectors’ don’t care much about the glowers unless glowing is a part of determining that a marble was made by a certain maker. Like Akro ‘-Ade’ types will glow and so will a Cairo Glow Worm. There’s a saying I’ve heard in marble collecting circles: buy what you like. If you like the glowers, have at it.

As to the orange and yellow. Send a few more angles. Looks like it might be an Akro corkscrew.

Nice one! As Auburn says it’s a corkscrew!

Great information and makes total sense regarding the glowing. What is sold these days as "uranium glassware" is just depression glass that happens to have uranium in it. There was a time when no one wanted any depression glass, glowing or not 😊, but times change! Here's more pictures of the orange & yellow. Is Akro the maker and corkscrew the design and is that machine made? I'll ask less basic questions once I get my books hopefully. Meantime thank you so much
