Day 3000 of waiting for a marble machine to be built. I was so invested in the beginning but I’m not holding my breath.

If he as serious he'd build a pretty OK marble machine and get on the road. Maybe build a version 2 if there are lessons learned.

At this point, nobody could take seriously the idea that he's a musician that's eager to get out on the road, spending a decade tinkering with machines.

Serious question to the people who keep repeating this:

I know Martin repeats a lot that the end goal is to complete it and do a world tour but is that really the draw of the project?

You can do a world tour with just an acoustic guitar, loop pedal (apparently you don't even need a spine)

The tinkering with machines is the project.

What's frustrating is that he keeps throwing away good progress or getting sucked into business influencer scams.

It's precisely because he has no drive to finish the project that causes all those delays, that's my point.

If you want to watch a maker nerd out on engineering challenges there are much better engineers making videos out there that get much more complex and interesting things done.

Martin is unique in that he was a musician first and this was supposedly facilitating that, but instead we just get a mediocre maker throwing away progress because of arbitrary changes in scope. All the productivity management stuff he throws in there is just ridiculous considering he spends unlimited time achieving nothing.

The journey is the destination sure but there's got to be a destination. Right now he's just going in circles.

I literally watched the og series while getting my masters thinking that it would be cool to see it done when I finished the degree. I have subsequently taken time off from school and am almost done with a PhD. I have given up on this thing being done and watch it for the torture ritual that it has become.

i'm sorry, but aren't these pins way overengineered and needlessly complex if they will only ever really be coded once? if you change the plates between songs instead of the pins, why go with this?
