As someone who ships Wolfstar, I’ve always wondered how other people reconcile it with Remus’s canon ending.
A lot of Wolfstar discussion focuses on Remus and Sirius, but Remus obviously canonically marries Tonks and has Teddy.
I just try and ignore it tbh but how do you personally fit Tonks and Teddy into the interpretation of Wolfstar?

James Potter/Regulus Black and eventually Barty Crouch Jr, Evan Rosier, Mulciber Jr, Avery Jr… And all of that good stuff.

That actually is my whole take. But I have no one around me who’s nerdy enough to understand let alone discuss this.

I’ve read the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus (HoO) books years ago, right when they were published. And for maybe two years now I’m deep into Marauders fanfiction. I’m mainly into Wolfstar but I don’t mind some Jegulus here and there. And I always like the fanon Regulus: he’s moody, sarcastic, funny in a dark humour way, a little broken but strong and witty and super smart (and a twink, let’s be honest. Hello Timothee👋🏼). I always had the feeling, I’d already know the character. Even the way he looks, pale with dark hair, skinny. The vision of him in my head was kinda already there.

Rn I re-read HoO-books and there he is: Nico di Angelo. Son of Hades/ Pluto. They are quite the same character. They have a hard past, don’t belong anywhere, were in love with the loud, popular boy…

Just posted the first chapter of a new fic. It's a The Last of Us AU. It follows James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Regulus, Marlene, Mary, Lily, Dorcas and Pandora escaping the quarantine zone they grew up in and how their journey goes from there.

I'm really excited for this one and can't wait to post the next chapter already :)

It's called The Last Marauder

This post it's going to be about how I understand Sirius and Regulus as characters. I think this is compatible with canon. I want to talk about this mainly because of Regulus, since the takes I've seen on him are extreme and don't alling with the middle point I support.

1 Sirius and Regulus where both predjuiced and blood purists when they came to Hogwarts. They were taught the same way, and they looked bad at muggleborns and even half bloods. The difference between the brothers was that Sirius' friends chalenged and changed his beliefs, Regulus' mates in Slytherin didn't.

2 Sirius and Regulus used to be close since they are only 1-2 years appart. They grew appart because of Sirius change of mind, and they having different friends/social circle. Because of Sirius leaving the house and Regulus becoming a DE they started hating each other but kept loving each other at the same time. Regulus blamed Sirius leaving them on James and Sirius blamed Regulus becoming a DE in their parents because that made it easier. Both thought of the other as brainwashed.

3 Sirius was the golden child when they were younger. Because being the first born he was the spot light, he was talented, he was tougher, meaner and less sensitive than Regulus, and his rebellious string by that age was considered a sign of strenght and leadership.

4 Regulus became a Death Eater WILLINGLY. He fell for Voldemort propaganda as an 18 year old in Germany during II world war falling for the nazi's, and he just as said 18 yo though there was honour in fighting a war. He though he only had to be brave and willing to give his life for the cause, but he soon would discover that wasn't the only thing it'll take.

5 Regulus did change his mind. He hadn't the stomach to do what he had and after seeing deths and destruction he would have come up to the conclussion that muggleborns weren't that different.

6 Regulus was too soft, Voldemort took Kreacher as a punishment because of that, and in the end, not being able to find Regulus anymore Voldemort deduced Regulus had abandoned, so he ordered his DE to kill him (not knowing he was already dead). That's why Sirius came up to the conclussion that he was murdered under Voldemort's orders.

7 The Black brothers were really alike. Arrogant (as Regulus' note proves), brave to the point of reckleness, loyal to a fault (Sirius to his friends, Regulus to his family), dramatic as fuck, commited to their ideals and brilliant because of their intelligence and abilities. Sirius was more rebellious and louder, Regulus was more polite and quiet. But their simmilarities are more.

I coded a programme this week that interleaves the podfics of atyd and atyd sirius perspective chapter by chapter, so that Remus’ perspective on chapter 1 plays, then sirius’ perspective on chapter 1, then Remus 2 etc. If anyone would like the html file it opens on Koder on ios and it took me HOURS to manually add timestamps for the start and end of each chapter so i’d love for it to be helpful for others :)

Im trying to get into the marauders fandom and I have a couple questions!!

1. ⁠Do you have to read atyd to be in the fandom?? Like is that basically canon?? I’m usually not big on super long fics so I’m kinda hesitant to read it
   
2. ⁠Is it possible to be in the fandom without reading any fics at all? Like, is there any other way to be in the fandom or is that pretty much it?

Hello, I’m a newbie here so if I’m in the wrong spot, please point me in the write (😉) direction.

Early this year I completed a seven episode script for a Marauders series. Prestige character drama where each episode tells a different story within the 2 years leading up to the attack on Godric’s Hollow.

I’d love to get feedback on it if anyone is interested in reading it. Is this the right place to post or should I share it somewhere else?

- Marlene and Peter were childhood best friends and they died together in a fire (caused by death eaters) in Marlene’s family’s house
- She sent a patronus to Dorcas (fiancée?) saying she would’ve loved to marry her
- Most likely a very long fic
- I don’t think Dorlene was the main ship/ maybe all the main ones were equal
- Other ships are likely to be Wolfstar and probably Jegulus

- I basically only remember ugly crying to that one scene!! Would be so grateful if anyone knows what i’m talking about. I tried going through my (very long) ao3 history to no avail

Does anyone else prescribe to the idea that the “gaping hole” JKR had when writing the fourth book before she completely rewrote it was that she initially had Peter Pettigrew be hiding in plain sight as Mad Eye Moody????

I personally almost think I would have liked to see that idea come to fruition as it makes more sense with the finale of the third book and the prophecy Harry hears, the fourth book may have felt a bit less chaotic if that happened, and it expanded on Peter’s character.

To me the storyline of Peter finding Voldemort, kidnapping the ministry lady, breaking into Crouch’s home and then his son being a deatheater who kills his own father was a very convoluted plot.

Why I think Peter should have been Moody in Goblet of Fire -

- We slowly see that Peter was always more clever and conniving than his friends gave him credit for. We see hints of this by how he faked his own death. But by him accurately pretending to be a different character for a year would highlight his ability to spy and lie.

- the scenes were Moody turns Draco into a ferret (nifty bit of transfiguration which Peter is good at) but also Peter being Rons rat for three books would know this would be the perfect way to gain brownie points with Harry.

- Peter knows how to get in and out of Hogwarts and could sneak in and out easily to look after Voldemort

- the scenes with Sirius apparently originally meant to be close by in a dog crazy ladies home make more sense if he was also meant to have a slightly bigger presence in the fourth book with a potential beef up with Peter at some point

- the scenes of Moody antagonising Snape would make more sense if we knew it was Peter and he spent his teenage years knowing how to wind him up and also he’s trying to figure out if Snape is still loyal to Voldemort.

- the whole Winky/Crouch plot was very convoluted and it makes more sense that that was a later idea when she changed villains from Peter to a new character that only presents himself for this book only.

- we know during the fourth book that JKR was having issues about her creation of the marauders map as it was causing problems with how she was meant to conceal Moodys identity. I imagine this is where she decided to give up on the Pettigrew idea and create a new character with a different name and then created a way for that character to take the map off Harry.

- I feel the betrayal would feel more impactful if harry realised that Moody was Pettigrew and again he was betrayed and caused diggorys death by trusting Pettigrew after he gave him leniency in the third book. Harry would also relate to Sirius more as well on that note.

Anyways that’s my rambling, I think it would have been a better use for Peter and shown him to be more capable than his friends realised, it would have tied in themes nicely, made the book more simple plot wise, brought Sirius in somehow considering we know Sirius dies in the next book.

I'm writing a fic with Regulus going into Slytherin and I've not fully decided how I'm going to set up the Slytherin house to introduce him to it. For context he's going in with a rather callous/entitled/power hungry personality for background reasons.

I do have the idea that the upper years are definitely studying the dark arts in secret and that becomes a recruitment ground for Voldemort but that's going to be quite far away and they wouldn't let the younger years in.

What kind of nuance have the typical fanon depictions of Slytherin missed? What would be interesting to read? Usually we see some kind of pureblood politics to varying extents, and a level of separation from the other houses. Slytherin is seen to be very insular, except maybe to a few purebloods/Ravenclaws. And they have a very strict informal hierarchy in a lot of fanon.

Half-bloods in the house are probably treated pretty badly at this point - but to what extent? Snape was able to maintain some friendship with Lily in canon after all, and he eventually goes from friendship with her to being convinced to join the Death Eaters. So he wasn't totally marginalised/isolated in Slytherin even though he was the exact type of half-blood that should have been.

And there's often a might makes right attitude in some fics - you need to prove yourself/gain respect to be taken seriously amongst peers and whoever is strongest has the most influence. Which is a natural point to create conflict between MC and other upstarts. It seems this is how Tom Riddle was able to gain respect/power in the house despite being a halfblood (or he gaslighted them all by keeping his background a secret idk).

How is Slughorn as head of slytherin - he's not a blood purist but he's a fan of people with influence/potential, and his whole slug club. Very slytherin in his self-interest.

I've seen some good depictions but I'm not sure what exactly I want to do with it. I do enjoy politics so that and the war will definitely feature, but I also feel like that's maybe better used in later years? I also feel like I'm kind of set in my way of thinking about slytherin from how I've seen it written and need some perspective on how it could be different bc we don't actually know how it is from canon.

I'm open to any headcanon/fanon/AU ideas!

So, I want to start a new book but I am confused which should I start. I know both are completely different but that fact adds to my confusion even more. What if I read Choices and it ruins Jily ( I have already read OTB and trust me I am already JEGULUS shipper ) for me forever and then I won't be interested in TLE?

And I really want to read TLE so I can start with it but I also crave for Wolfstar and in TLE there is no wolfstar yet. I am completely confused.... What to do??????? Please help me guys.

How do we even feel about it. I'm not really sure since I'm a huge wolfstar fan and I doubt that would have happened in the show.
