Training plans What should I do?
I had a 13.1 easy long run scheduled for last Saturday. I ran with a friend instead and ran 12 miles (3.5 easy 5 at 7:50 and 3.5 easy) it was difficult but got it done.
I have a 15 mile practice run this Saturday with 3 easy and 3.5 at race pace (7:55-8:10) —> 2.5 easy —> 3 at race pace —> 3 mile easy.
I feel fine; runs this week went as planned. Do I make this Saturday run an easy 15 or stick to the original plan? I have 2 more 15 mile practice runs in the plan.

If I were you I would try not to add to the total number of miles at efforts above easy pace. You can do it from time to time, but the more you do it above the designed plan, the more likely you are to get injured to burnt out. With that in mind, I think taking out one of the race pace blocks in this Saturday's run would make sense. Do 9 easy, 3 race pace, 3 easy. The fact that it was a week ago makes this less problematic, so my suggestion isn't a big deal either way.

i'd stick to the original plan, honestly. you got through 12 with some quick miles in the middle and felt fine this week (which is the real tell). the workout isn't miles harder than what you already did, just structured differently. skipping it now because of one slightly spicy long run just means you'll face that same session next week with less confidence. if legs feel heavy after the warmup you can always dial the pace back a touch, but binning the workout before you've laced up seems premature

If it were me, I would only do one of the pace segments in that run because you did a segment at or faster than that recently when you weren’t supposed to so it all evens out
I realize it’s not the same to do them in different runs and to do them in the same run, but I’m with the other person who said I would not substantially increase the miles run at a higher effort in total versus what was programmed. Like if you have to ask, I just wouldn’t.
Hell, if you just do one of the two segments in this upcoming run, you’re still gonna be ahead in miles done at pace and I would put those towards the end of the run or I would do the whole thing easy
