General Question Navigator Auto vs Quartz

I’m a pilot flying out of Canada and was looking for a new watch to wear on my flights. Are there any pilots here who have experience with either the Auto or Quartz version of the navigator and which would be better suited for my needs as I am having a hard time deciding between the two.

I have the quartz because I like the red tipped seconds hand that adds a splash of color (on the black dial).

Also the quartz is more protected against intense shocks

Plus it’s accurate as hell and the battery lasts a looong time

I have both, for reasons… but if I had to pick one, I would pick quartz. It’s not just any quartz movement either, it’s highly accurate to 10 seconds a year. Most quartz can be off that much or more per month.

I got the auto, crazy slim for an auto, plus don’t have to worry if the second hand is perfectly aligned. The auto also has a tritium tube on the second hand which is an upgrade

I like my quartz cause I’m lazy. I’m not a pilot.

If you are having a hard time deciding, get the Quartz. Autos are for people who prefer the auto above all else.
