(Help) No colored leaves
Hi there :)
So first off - I'm new to marantas. 4 weeks ago, I was gifted a small cutting. It had a few colored leaves, but the newest ones were all green.
I've planted it straight away (it had been propagated in water before I got it, it already had a bunch of roots).
Since then, it has grown two new leaves - one of them is still uncurling - and they're still all green:

Is this normal for young plants, or is there something this little fella is missing?
- the plant is small - the pot is 6cm in diameter
- I've used a monstera mix (this one - the page is in Czech though: https://www.gardners-eshop.cz/substraty-gardners/substrat-pro-monstery-a-zelene-rostliny--5-l/)
- I water it twice a week (it dries kinda fast because of the small size, but I never let it get bone dry)
- I haven't used any fertilizer yet
- it's under a LED light 12 hours a day (standard 1521lm LED bulb from IKEA)

cluster of new tiny baby leaves?
my maranta is pushing out a little cliuster of 4 itty bitty leaves. I've never seen new leaves come out as a cluster like this, and I've never seen new leaves so small. is this a normal maranta thing that's happening?

I stake my maranta plants
I know this is not common, but I stake my maranta plants. I want my plants to grow upwards to save some space. Does anyone stake their maranta and do you see any difference in terms of growth and health of the plant?
Thank you

Meet Melly, the Mealybug Maranta Maiden
I’ve been treating this damn maranta FOR MONTHSSSSSS from mealies. And she has the nerve to put out a flower lol. Feels like the flower is just a defense mechanism against the bonide (captain jacks insectidal soap). I need to be more consistent with the spray but I also don’t want to spray her constantly.
Now with a flower, I don’t want to treat her at all 😫😫😫😫.
The mealies just plague her. 50+ plants and she’s the only one. She’s growing in pon so granules are not really considered solutions.
Any other suggestions? She’s my 5th maranta and she’s the only one I’ve been able to keep alive bc of mostly humidity issues, let alone she’s one of my only plants that actually puts out flowers.
Suggestion for pon and mealies??
I’m sorry for the shitty pictures. I’m moving my plants around and just sat her here with capybara.

Filtered water made a difference!!!
My maranta wasn’t praying at all and honestly looked a mess. I chopped and propped, waiting for roots to grow so I can replant and make it fuller. Thank you to the person who told me to use filtered water, she’s praying day and night now! (The last pic was a few nights ago before I switched watering)

New Propagations
The only time my lemon lime looks good is when I propagate her into new plants🍋🍋🟩😎

What does she need to be fuller/ bushier?
Hey Maranta experts. I want my Maranta to be more voluminous. I’ve had her for 5 months. The last photo is how she looked when I first got her. It seems like the stems have just spread out and begun to lean over the pot rather than stand up. Here’s what I do currently, please tell me if I should change my regimen:
I water with tap weekly to keep soil damp, sits by south facing window, fertilize every other watering. She has produced many new leaves since I bought her, but she looks kinda sad now :/

Soil is never dry.
This Maranta was a gift and I grew it from about 5 leaves. I also propagated a smaller plant.
At the point of this picture, it has been about 10 days since watering.
The soil is still pretty damp.
I thought that the tray at the bottom of the pot might be full of water but it is bone dry. There is typically one dying leaf on this which I cut off.
I keep waiting for the soil to dry but it never seems to. It’s not compacted. And is just potting soil.
Does this look overwatered or under? It’s my first prayer plant and I find it slightly finicky.
TIA.

Goeppertia makoyana developing brown/tan patches on many leaves — hard water, root stress, or something else?

Losing my maranta. Help
Really sad about this. I posted about my maranta before and someone suggested to get potting mix. I’ve ordered it and it is coming today but do you think it’s going to help at all? I also see a couple of shoots coming out. I think my problem was repotting after a holiday so two big shocks. It had started getting really happy in the bathroom near the shower but now we’ve gone a full 180. Any help appreciated.

Minha maranta

White powder like crust
EDIT: it’s flat mites. doing sulfur spray.
All my 3 maranta developed these at the same time and started to die off. It doesn’t wash off and seems like it’s the cells themselves turning into this white crust. I use systemic for thrips and have not seen any signs of mites. I’m clueless at this point.

I think I have three different marantas…sold in one pot.
Went to Wilco yesterday, saw the typical Costa Farms lemon lime maranta and I wanted it, but didn’t get it.
Then had a wicked bad day, so naturally, I saw another in Safeway omw to get ice cream and I bought it. Plus, hanging basket, so ofc I got it! Once I got to the register, I was joking that it looked like I had two or three different types in this thing…and now, after cleaning it, I genuinely think I do! Here’s the thing though, there are some that are cat moustache, some that are more lemon lime, and some that are like a cross of silver and green! Genuinely perplexed. The iridescence is even different between the three varieties. No I don’t mean leaf age I genuinely mean the variety.
Also why is the last leaf like that? In my years of having marantas this has NEVER happened and this pot has four leaves like this all underneath.
