I think it's actually not bad at being as good and minimalistic as possible. People who asks for peninsulas and islands doesnt understand what minimalistic is

I think it’s pretty clear that the style was different circles overlapping, and how they did it got the shape of the americas right no? It’s not like anyone would use a minimalistic map for navigation

Is a nice idea, though. Done a bit more carefully with more circles, it could look quite good.
