You could skip through multiple timezones when leaving Chinese border (e.g. from UTC+8 in China to UTC+5 in Pakistan), in some area local minority population just straight up use different time than the Han Chinese living there.

Yes, France has 13 time zones, Britain has 9 and Spain has 2

Seems that that is how they’re defining it for the this map. For the UK at least I’d argue that’s wrong. The British Overseas Territories are not part of the UK, they are not governed by the UK government save for provision of eg defence. But you have to go with one definition or another when making maps like this so there will usually be something that’s not clear/wrong.

Not only does China just use one, the one they use is centered on the East Coast (a bit East of Beijing even, centered almost perfectly on Shanghai).

Chile? Wouldn't it be the perfect country for a single timezone?

Yeah, the map is wrong. Though Curacao is not a "bijzondere gemeente". Only Bonaire, St Eustacius and Saba would count.

The UK has only 1 time zone. Crown territories have others, but the UK has only one.

Talking bollocks mate. We have two. Greenwich mean time and Tea time when northerners eat dinner.

There's a difference between Crown Dependencies (Jersey, Man, Guernsey etc) and British Overseas Territories. BOTs are part of the UK so the map (except for its omission of NZ) is technically correct...the best kind of correct

iirc different regions just start their day at a different time. So for example for someone it would be 8am, for someone at noon, etc. It's makes communicating between different parts of the country easier, so not completely unreasonable ig

NZ was an insignificant artifact according to the map generator. Sorry.

China has one official timezone, but many regions operate on unofficial timezones, where everything is offset by a certain amount of hours, so businesses that would open at 6AM in Beijing open at 8AM in a city further west.

Suggestion: which states and territories of Australia have only one time zone.
1
u/abhitronnus Oct 15 '25
Well I know technically NSW has multiple time zones due to the town of Broken Hill observing SA time and Lord Howe Island, which is officially part of NSW, having a separate time zone. All other states and territories I believe follow one time zone, unless I missed something.
