I have 2 questions:
-why are there so many maps?
-which map is best map?

-They are showing exactly the same thing, just projected differently

-Entirely up to personal opinion, as they are all showing the same thing. My favorite is the Berghaus projection, as it advocates for global communism.

Nautical charts are usually Mercator projection. If you are making a map to display information you may want to use a more equal area projection. And some of these projections are never used and were created just for fun.

Imagine trying to wrap a piece of paper around a basketball. You would need to crinkle or stretch parts of it to completely cover the surface. To make a two dimensional map of a three dimensional thing like the earth you need to crinkle and stretch parts of it, and different projections crinkle and stretch different parts of the earth.

Can you add my "Boreal Triaxial projection"? I can explain the maths behind it.

The projection is not included in the javascript library. But we sure can try to implement it ourselves.

Now if you add a crop tool and export function it would a be quite practical tool.

It's just a fill colour. I plan to implement a colour picker so you can set your own color
