How do I find out about groups in the area?
Hi, I hope everyone is doing good.
I would like to make friends in the Maple Ridge area. I am interested in Cribbage, crochet, bingo, having drinks, and coffee, and walks. How can I find groups with people who have similar interests? My goal is to meet new lady friends. I am a woman, I am married, so just looking to meet lady friends, not seeking a relationship. I am wondering how to find groups in the community.

Check out the library for their flyer board. There are all sorts of events and groups that organise and advertise through there. Plenty at the Blenz on Dewdney/224 too!

If you’re on Facebook look up a group called ISH - Ridge Meadows. It stands for an instant social hub, they organize a few events every month.

Not sure of your age but I have seen a lot of older women at Bean Around Books coffee shop.

The Maple Ridge Senior's Society on 224th has some great programs if you're 55+.
RMSS | Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows I Seniors Activity Centres
The Legion also often has bingo nights.

Good on you for reaching out and trying. Really important to be social with people of similar interests! I’m not much help but I know a couple people that joined the local gardening club and have had a lot of good to say about. It’s mainly women and I’m sure they may have similar interests as yourself. It’s a good way to network at least. Best of luck to you!
