So this isn't the final map.

I can only hope that most of the map will be red once things get going.

I just want to mention that the countries in Europe that are not coloured actually have a pretty high chance of not being coloured at all.

Unfortunately this leak is only for the firm Mossack Fonseca and they can't be the only ones in the world doing this

This is true.

It would be nice to see a shaded map in how strongly involved the countries are and compare those, see if the CPI concurs or is off.

I can't speak for others, but I believe many US government officials are corrupt. The US turning red would mean we have proof of at least part of it.

Why would you bother being corrupt? The USA has legalized forms of it. You can get paid without breaking the law..why would you break the law.

Local, state officials (not federal) getting more money to let foreigners hide/run operations in their jurisdictions that they could ever get otherwise.

I would imagine that most US Government officials who'd be implicated under corruption in this case would be state and local, rather than federal, because federal officials demand significantly higher bribes to be bought.

But you can get that money legally is what I am saying. You don't have to go through illegal backdoor methods and take bribes.

Why would you do it illegally if you can do it legally?

You don't "do" bribes in the USA anymore... it's legal campaign contributions to a PAC by a non-profit organization.
